It was my first time to come to the place, as one of my best friends suggested that it was a nice place to grab a bite and chill - wasn't disappointed at all!
The place had a cosy, homey feel. It was spacious, with ample seating, and it was well-lit - as it had so much natural light coming from the large windows all over!
Breakfast and lunch menu selection was not a lot, but options were sufficient to cater to any palate. They also served a variety of sweet treats (near the till) to have with your coffee or tea if you just want to chill out.
For the ordering process, the menus are set on the table, and you just order what you want at the till. They ask you where you are seated, and they bring the food over while you people watch and wait. 🥰 The food was served fresh, and piping hot!
Today, I had the soup of the day - potato and leek soup - served with sourdough bread an butter on the side. It was chef's kiss! I also ordered a piece of carrot cake - heaven! My friend had the tuna melt sandwich, and she gave us a little to try, OMG.
I can't explain how this visit made me so happy! I now have a new place to frequent whenever I am at the High Street!
Update:
The Potato and Leek soup and Tuna Melt are still as delicious as ever! Went to have something to eat last week with my husband after a GP appointment nearby and it honestly made us feel really warm and fuzzy and felt a lot better after a poorly week!
It was my husband's first time there, and tasting your amazing Potato and Leek soup has...
Read moreI have visited this cafe on a few occasions now and I go back because they have a good Gluten free choice. However I had lunch today with a friend and I was very disappointed. I ordered two salads but as normal requested one gluten free.We had to wait a while before they were served but it was busy so I didn’t mind the wait. When they were served they were plonked down in front of us no offer of any dressings and no butter for the bread. One of the reasons like this cafe is the gluten free bread was the Warburtons bloomer which is really nice, this bread today was not that it was the cheap tasteless GF white bread, It wasn’t even toasted properly and dumped on top of the salad to say I was disappointed is an understatement. When I went to ask for butter I asked why the bread had been changed and all I got was a shrug of the shoulders and “I don't know.” This probably isn’t so much of a big deal to most people but trust me there is nothing more tasteless and horrid than cheap white GF bread needless to say I didn’t eat it! The salad was really lovely and so was the cake I had afterwards but I am asking please go back to the lovely Warburtons GF bread it makes all...
Read moreWhat a disappointment! I chose this company to cater for my daughter’s christening but unfortunately their service left a sour taste. Catering for 20 people only to arrive and have the guests and the venue staff assume we had only catered for 10. Assuming some food had not been delivered I contacted them to be told that was the correct amount and told the quantity per person. I’m not sure who was to get the 1st bite from the 1.5 chicken goujon each. I was also told they usually are told there is too much food and the venue has never had an issue when they have catered there before. Much to the surprise of the venue who were disgusted and advised me they have never used them and from their experience of hosting events this was seriously poor. £238.80 (inc vat) + £10 delivery for what you can see in the picture bearing in mind one plate was some fruit and another a layer of crisps. Thank goodness Sainsbury's was just...
