UPDATE: I did not tell you it was a public car park I said I THoUGHT it was. You asked me to move and I did so stop making it sound like I was arguing about moving - I immediately said I would move! You were completely out of order in the way you spoke to me. I said I would move as I hadnât realised where I was parked and you kept making an issue out of it. You asked me to move and when I did you walked in front of my car so of course I told you to get out of the way. You a rude and unpleasant person who caused an unpleasant situation for no reason at all. I was happily moving without issue but you clearly wanted to make an issue. Reading other reviews of your bar it is clear Iâm not the only person who finds you rude and unpleasant. I stand by my review and I will not respond any further as clearly you are the kind of person who just like to argue and be unpleasant.
I was sitting in my car outside the pub today doing a pick up and a woman came out asking me to move my car. I said yes I hadnât realised I was parked where I shouldnât be and would move. She was very rude and continued to complain at me. I told her there was no need for that as I was moving. I said I hadnât realised it wasnât a public car park to which she accused me of being stupid! There was absolutely no need for her horrible attitude and her rude and abusive manner towards me. I donât even need to go inside this pub to know itâs not somewhere I...
Read moreIf only I could give a zero star rating. Seriously disappointed with this place. We've been coming here a few times over the last couple of months to while away the hours when our daughter is doing show rehearsals and have been faced with multitudes of problems. First we've had "sorry we aren't serving food today", said whilst taking food to other customers. Then that was followed by "sorry we can't serve hot drinks as we have problems when we are preparing food at the same time" on another day. Today was the straw that broke the camels back however as I was told that even though I had 2 hours to while away we wouldn't be served a pot of tea as the manger was the only staff member on the bar.
I get the sense that it's only truly welcoming to its regulars, and this is probably the only reason it stays in business. We had no intention but to come here following the closure of the brandling, but now I will never be enticed back. I've never been one for bad reviews as I take everything on the chin. However I can't ignore when a place just can't even provide...
Read moreI had an absolute gem of an evening at The Collingwood Arms in Cornhill-on-Tweed last weekend! This charming Georgian coaching inn is a proper treat, with its warm log fire and inviting library that feels like stepping into a mateâs cosy lounge. The food was top-notch â I went for the venison Wellington, which was cooked to perfection, tender and bursting with flavour, served with a cracking red wine jus. The barâs got a belting selection of local ales, and I couldnât resist a pint of the Golden XPA â crisp and refreshing, just the ticket. The staff were spot-on, friendly without being over the top, and the whole place has this relaxed, quintessentially British vibe that makes you want to linger. The garden views were a bonus, too â canât wait to return in summer to enjoy them properly! Highly recommend this place for a proper feed and a...
