It was just meh, and paying £10 for a bagel makes want to give one star for meh tbh.
I finally bit the bullet and get my first dot bagel in 3 years and tbh it wasn’t worth it. Surprisingly it was the busiest I had seen it maybe around 8 people in the store with some sat on the floor weirdly. The lay out is very minimal which is confusing especially when you have to wait 10-20mins for your bagel.
If you know the customers need to wait you may as well making it comfortable and work in the atmosphere, if not just pre-fill or just fill those burgers quicker.
The bread was chewy and theb crust felt like I was biting down into the bag I came in….bit disappointing although i did go at 14:30 and I suppose these were made early this morning g but still it just didn’t feel how should for the price.
I got the bougy Lou, with the flavourless cream cheese (although plenty as I like it) and enough smoked salmon with some not very preppery rocket and half a pickle. Where were the capers I ask myself? Overall, I think I prefer the bougy lous equivalent at the bagel place in granger market. They seem to know how best show the parts of a classic smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel…and that’s not hard to do for a bagel more expensive than a smash burger meal you get...
Read moreWe ordered a sandwich to go, was told 20 mins wait. Which we were more than happy with, being a bank holiday weekend. we then saw almost every customer who ordered after us getting served their larger orders before ours, not to mention drivers collecting orders too which was abit irritating. a customer complained they also waited over 30 mins for their order. I understand they may have more online orders, but if that was the case, have more of a structure in place so both in person customers get served quickly too. I noticed a few people walked out in fury. I won't be visiting again as this spoilt our plans for the day and seeing that reviews from weeks and months ago had the same outcome, nothing has changed. What a...
Read moreI’m afraid I’d agree that this is poor. Been before under the previous ownership (and I’m aware of the issues) but this was my first return. Had the salt & chilli road (love the pun) with hash pops and garlic mayo. Firstly - very expensive for what you get. £9 for the bagel - a very expensive sandwich, £4 for hash pops and £1.50 for mayo!!!!! £1.50. Shocking. The mayo was really poor - tasted cheap and not very garlicky at all. The hash pops tasted frozen and only half were even a bit crispy. The chicken in my bagel was also completely over-done and wasn’t spicy at all.
Basically really poor. I don’t know if the new owners have cut costs with cheaper ingredients- but this wasn’t great. At...
