The Naked Deli — Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

Great place, lovely choice of food. Portions maybe a bit small though specially for prices, they aren't too unreasonable but I'm not a big eater and manage to clean my plate. I had the beef burger, but in all fairness it did need a bit of seasoning in the actual patty.

Lovely inside except its too small. Theres a lot of tables crammed in, chairs are practically touching when sitting, music was so loud everyone had to shout which in turn made it louder. In such a small space I'd reccomend turning it down a bit.

Tried the breakfast bowl and indeed it was naked. No flavours at all. Scrambled eggs dry as if made earlier and kept under a heater. Cold avocado next to piping hot mushrooms and it all comes in allegedly recyclable pot with - guess what?! - a plastic lid. Okay maybe it is designed purely as takeaway business or staff went on strike and didn't feel like washing up as I wasn't served on a normal plate with normal cutlery despite eating in. Coffee tasted like water. I have no reason to return here given how snotty the woman on...

Quality of food is 4/5 but the overuse of plastic and inconsistent portions on smoothies take away satisfaction of an otherwise good and generally well executed idea. Some staff seem a bit cagey at times which is sad - good conditions generally give good people so maybe they are being squeezed too much.

Edit: I was referring to use of plastic in the cake containers - they seem to be made from non “biodegradable” plastics?
