🌟 Another shoutout to Happiness Two 🌟
What an absolutely amazing feast we had! 🎉 We've been searching high and low for a spot that does hot pot, and thanks to this wonderful group, we discovered a real treasure right in the heart of Newcastle on Stowell Street.
First time trying hot pot, and wow – what a fun and flavorful experience! Not knowing what to expect and how to order, our server took the time to explain the whole process, and also recommended which dishes would pair best with the broths. We ordered both the Tom Yum broth, with its spicy tang, and the Creamy Chicken broth, which was rich and soothing. The variety of condiments and sides was mind-blowing—meats, vegan options, and loads of fresh veggies—perfect for everyone! Hubby, being vegan, loved the soyamade platter, fish tofu, tofubean sticks, and all the other tasty bits to throw into the pot. Each bite was packed with flavor and freshness.
We kicked things off with prawns tempura and Siu Mai dumplings for starters —hands down some of the best we've ever tasted! The tempura was crispy and light, and the dumplings were bursting with delicious filling. Yum! 😋
The only letdown for me personally was the vegetarian platter. I was expecting a nice mix of rice cakes, broccoli, cucumber, and other veggies (which is shown in the individual veg accompaniments), but it mainly consisted of a few pieces of corn, lots of cabbage, lettuce, and coriander for £12.80. For that price, I thought there could’ve been a bit more variety. Still, it didn’t ruin the overall experience.
The best part? The value for money overall! Our bill came to just £82 for two adults and two kids, and we still had some hot soup left to enjoy later. The quality, portions, and flavors definitely made it worth every penny. Plus, the takeaway containers were a real highlight—super sturdy and eco-friendly, a refreshing change from the usual plastic tubs. They charged 50p per box, but honestly, it was worth it for the quality and presentation.
All in all, we’re already planning our next visit to try more of their dishes. If you love hot pot, and havent visited yet, this place is a must-try! 🥘✨

Read more(한글포함)It's was the worst restaurant that asked me to withdraw cash after finishing my food. Please read it. First of all, the price of the food on the menu was different from the price of the opening price in front of the store. So I asked a Chinese employee about the issue, and he said outside things are the old ones, It was fine to understand. After eating the bad issue happend, I'm not sure if he noticed the fact that I don't have the same nationality or the restaurant's rules are sure, The manager told me to bring me a UK card or cash because Visa card and Master Cards are on the high fee. I was really unpleasant because before eating manager didn't gave me a notice in advance of the restaurant rules and their were no posters aswell. I asked in English about the problems, but then he said since it's not against the law, then told me to pull the cash from the cash machine in front of the casino. My friend picked one, then I told this is not a nice managment. I think there will be lot of customers in New Castle, But the system has to be told before eating and the service must be improved. I want to give zero stars, but I'm very sad that I don't have zero ones, I'm here to work at a festival, and I really fealt to talk about this restaurant.

I was really excited to try this place as I have been to happiness 1 many times (next to Percy Arms)
It didn't hit the mark for me this time. Nice waitress, good interiors, but cold starter. I ordered char siu bao and 2 roasts with rice (duck and pork) as these are my favourite dishes at happiness 1.
The char siu bao arrived with stone cold insides. There were 3 pieces for 4.70, and I returned the dish with 2, though in retrospect I should have left the cold filling for them to inspect. They returned the other 2 warmed up. I would have expected a replacement for the cold one. There wasn't as much filling as I'm used to either so this was a disappointment.
The roast meats were good - pork was the best with good flavour and the duck had a nice crispy skin. Not a great sized portion for 12.60 though, some of my pieces were mostly bone and presentation could be better.
They then charged me full price for the bao. I returned the bill saying its not right to charge full price for the buns when I ate one cold. They took it off the bill and I tipped the waitress for good service.
The manager then came and stated that I'd ate the buns but they took the bao off this time?? Maybe I misunderstood her intentions, but I just replied they shouldn't have come out cold in the first place
We go to restaurants to be looked after and we trust that the chefs have skill in heating food up? And keeping us safe, not giving us illnesses?
A poor experience should be automatically fixed by management, an apology isn't enough. I would have been happy with a replacement of the first bao that was eaten cold but not even that. A free drink or dessert?
Staff nice but they need to learn that when an error is made they need to regain the customers trust and good will with a show of good service. Sorry...
