The worst food I have ever tasted in my life and that is no eggaxeration. We went in at 10.30pm last night and I immediately noticed a strong smell in the place which smelt like burnt oil. The starters and main course we're absolutely disgusting and everything had a strong pungent taste of burnt oil. Before we had even finished my meal I went to the toilet and was violently sick. I was constantly throwing up for over 20 minutes solid. A fellow diner who came into the toilet and heard me being violently sick also commented on how disgusting the food was. My friend who I dined with stated at the time "the food certainly wasn't the best" however he rang me at lunch time today to say he to had been up all night ill. I immedately left the place and went straight home in a taxi which had to stop so I could be sick again on 4 occasions & check this... the taxi driver who was Asian stated that the restuarant was in his opinion the worst in Newcastle city centre. I can honestly say that I have never been so ill from food like that in my life. I was up all night being sick and have been seriously ill all day. It's now 16.55 the following day and I'm still throwing up and ill. I would also like to clarify and state that alcohol played no part in me being sick as I had only drank 2 vodka n cokes before arriving. So my honest opinion on the place is give it the wide berth. I certainly would never set foot back in the place. To the owners I make no apology for this scathing review but when your serving food that makes someone as ill as it did me then you need a serious reality check or you could kill someone. My biggest regret is that I didnt take a sample to hand in to the food & hygiene department of the...
Read moreWe dined here on friday. Firstly I would like to thank Ahmed and Atorag? Your hospitality was outstanding! Certainly higher than we expected 🥰. The restaurant itself is a beautiful building and exquisitely decorated throughout, perfectly clean and all the tables are meticulously arranged. The traditional music videos on the TV helped to add to the authentic experience. For our dinner we ordered onion bhajis, chicken tikka massala, mixed naga, veg pilau, mushroom pilau and a garlic and coriander nan. The onion bhajis came with a nice fresh salad they were light and well flavoured with mint sauce. The tikka massala was delicious 😋 like candy and the shade of red you hope for with an authentic tikka massala. The naga was quite hot 🔥 but I love spicy food 🥰 🤤. Both rices were delicious plenty vegetables/mushrooms with the added touch of cumin seeds and fresh coriander (which made it the nicest pilau rice we have tried!) The nan bread was literally the biggest we've seen in years! Very fresh perfectly light and fluffy with just a tad of crispness. Obviously I would like to say thank you to the chef! Your food is delicious 😋 your a master of your profession. Lastly I would like to say one last big thank you to you all! You were wonderful to us 🥰👍👍 and I hope we will be welcome back to dine again in future. I highly rate Latif to everyone..literally must try!! Kindest...
Read moreI have been going to this Indian restaurant for 10+ years and have never had a bad experience. There was a time, when I was a little younger, that a couple of us would turn up at 12.50am and we would still get the usual service and never rushed. The food has been great all of the time but, like with every Indian restaurant, some side dishes are slightly different, and maybe I prefer those of another restaurant for some dishes, not to say I ever disliked anything here mind. It can be "dead" at times and eating in such a huge room as a couple can feel a bit lonely, especially if you are all dressed up to eat out. It does get busy as well though and this can be before or after Newcastle are playing a home game. On one occasion, I have experienced the staff being a little bit grumpy but it was only that once and the food was still as good as always. It's unfortunate that they obviously have had a few bad nights where customers have not have the best meal and experience but I must have been there close to 50 or 60 times in my life...maybe more...and...
