This seems a nice independent café to support. Fairly busy for a Monday lunchtime in a time of Covid restrictions. They don't take bookings on the day, but they do have additional space upstairs when the more crowded downstairs area is full. Quite a few coffee options and we heard they use 2 shots per cup so I went for the large latte and found it lacked coffee flavour, so shots obviously not very strong. Husband's smaller latte was much better. Totally awesome latte art on both! Paninis were okay, we just felt they could have been better with some minor tweaks. My beef, blue cheese and caramelised onion chutney was heavy on the chutney, and therefore too sweet, and also light on the blue cheese which seemed to have mainly melted away, and dribbled out judging by the tasty traces down the outside. Thinly sliced beef - flavour generally lost in the chutney. Husband's chicken, mozzarella and pesto panini felt hastily done and the mozzarella was still cold in the middle. His second half was better as the temperatures had balanced out. We thought the Biscoff tiffin (vegan) looked amazing, and it was very well presented. Biscoff flavour overpowered by the soft, dark chocolate flavoured layer on the top which was very sweet and rich - neither of us could manage a whole one. I finished my slice at home, removing the chocolate layer and enjoying the rest more as a result. Prices seemed fair and they were right that there was quite a bit of parking in Nuns St (2h limit) which is very close. If we were in the area, I'd definitely try them again.

Decided something thing different from starbucks. In the morning thought I'd try this place. 1st impressions were really good place looks quirky very clean plenty of good seating outside down stairs and up stairs. Staff very friendly well dressed in uniform. when entered everything looks well stocked and cleaned. Also very easy access if your disabled Toilets were emulate and again well stocked with toilet paper and loo roll. Although they were up stairs not sure if they have disabled toilets on ground floor. Coffee was a little over priced but not by much of your comparing prices to local cheap places. however probaly one of the best raspberry mochas I've had. And worth the price. Food was absolutely pefect had the eggs royale cooked to pefection well presented and sauce was delicious. Can't wait to cone back here try out more of there food and coffee. Overall can't fault the place although little more expensive than other places if your on a budget if your looking for high quality food and coffee that u would get from top restaurants then Come here very reasonable price if your comparing this place to higher well known establishments. great value for money for what u get and quality of food and coffee is second to one definitely be coming vback and if you not poped in yet u need to you won't be disappointed

Highly Recommended! The place was quaint and beautifully and thoughtfully decorated to have a homey, cosy feel. Interiors are light and rustic, making for a laid-back coffee spot vibe. There are several seating areas to house quite a number of people - outside, ground, and first floor. Staff were pleasant and very accommodating and couldn't do enough for you. Food was exceptionally delicious! They serve several meals (including breakfast selections) along with sandwiches, baguettes (Chicken coronation, my favorite!) and paninis for those wanting to have a quiet light meal away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Cakes and baked goods to pair with coffee and hot drinks were so delightful, you can't just get one! For those wanting to have a quick catch up with friends, they also serve wine and a selection of beers and ales along with tapas to accompany the quick chit chat. Prices are a little bit expensive from some of the commerical coffee shops nearby, but with the ambiance and quality, it definitely is well reasonably priced. As these are prepared fresh in the café, you can be assured of a good, hearty and quality visit!

Took my partner for breakfast for her birthday based on Facebook and Google reviews. From the outside looking in it looked like a nice place, clean, tidy and well spaced out.

Ordered 1 veggie and 1 regular breakfast as well as 2 smoothies. Smoothies took about 10 minutes to come and food came 5 minutes after.

Smoothies were fine but when the food came I noticed my order wasn’t what I wanted so had asked for a replacement from poached eggs to scrambled eggs. This was no problem to the waitress but what should have been a 2-3 minute job turned into 10 minutes and when the scrambled egg arrived they were severely undercooked and watery. I asked a different waitress if I could have them cooked properly, had the bowl taken and my hand and she just snapped back at me, “yep”. A further 10 minutes pass and the eggs arrive whilst the rest of my breakfast was freezing. That wasn’t the only issue... my “Lincolnshire” sausages had been fried, were flat and crunchy, the bacon had been that over cooked it didn’t move when touched and the “grilled” tomato felt like it had been heated up under a 15w bulb!

To add to that, my partner barely touched hers as it was far from edible or tasty!

We were told the manager would be informed of our dissatisfaction, but we seen nothing of the manager and on being charged £20(for a 1/4 eaten breakfast and 2 smoothies - deducted the cost of my awful breakfast) for this terrible experience, we mentioned the food was far from good to be given a smug grin and a “we’ll let the kitchen know”.

By far the worst breakfast I’ve ever had (and I’ve had some bad ones in the past!), we left hungry and ended up getting something from Greggs!

Won’t be coming back any time soon, if ever again. Happy to overcharge for rubbish but not happy to find out what the issues are or even attempt to put them right.

Avoid this place if you want decent...
