Honestly I would avoid this place at all costs. I never write a bad review but this place was so so bad.
Me and my mum always used to grab a Yo Sushi here but when we saw it had changed for Pho we thought we would still give it a try, looking back we massively regret that decision.
We had to wait an age to have our order taken to start with. There was one poor waiter who was being overworked whilst another just swanned about looking like he couldn't be assed. The good waiter was so apologetic when he took our order which we appreciated.
We then proceeded to wait an hour and 15 mins for our food... other tables who arrived after us were served before us and we felt well and truly forgotten. The good waiter, to his credit, noticed the issue and gave us free drinks to try to make up for it.
When our food eventually did arrive it was gross. My mum had a rice bowl which the more she ate she realised that the ingredients were stale... I had a Pho which objectively absolutely sucked. The noodles were rubbery and not fully cooked and the veg was unwashed so tasted like dirt and was bitter. This too was still mostly raw.
On top of this, due to lack of staff, the surrounding tables weren't very clean and the front door was constantly left open so it was freezing in there, I had to get up multiple times and close it.
At the end of our half eaten meal we complained and felt bad, but the experience in this place sucked. I want to stress that it was in no way the good waiters fault and he was doing the best he could, but you should have more respect for your staff than to leave them in a position like that.
After all of this, we were still expected to pay the bill with a tiny discount, which I wasn't very impressed by. If you're looking for nice Vietnamese food in Newcastle my advise would be avoid, and go somewhere else, because...
Read moreWe came here yesterday as part of the soft opening. I’ve never eaten at another Pho before but love Vietnamese food. It’s obviously very very new and is lovely inside, really good location too. We had Imogen as our server and they were brilliant. Attentive but not overbearing. They had a good knowledge of the food and drinks too. Onto the food. I went a bit nuts and ordered 4 starters: chicken summer rolls, pork spring rolls, pork and lemongrass meatballs (all of which came with a choice of dip) and then the morning glory. All were delicious but the summer rolls were the highlight for me and the morning glory was a surprise as it wasn’t spinach like we would normally eat, is was so delicious. For mains we had the chicken super green and the beef brisket curry pho and both were so tasty. The curry was the highlight (we shared between us). Each pho comes with a plate of herbs for garnish. There were some unusual herbs but nothing I didn’t love. There is a dessert menu but we were stuffed so didn’t even have a glance. I really loved this restaurant, and we will absolutely be back! Oh, also the spicy lemonade is outstanding (it’s spiced with ginger and...
Read moreOverall disappointed in my experience here. I first ordered a dragonfruit lemonade which was just pink water with way to much fresh lime added i then changed this to which I hoped would be a regular lemonade but was then brought again just water and fresh lemon(which I did not drink) The starters were no better than alright we had ordered both the veg spring rolls and squid,The spring rolls being honestly just not good and lacking in a lot of flavour. The pho which me and my partner had for mains was really just a plain hot broth which I also did not end up eating,I am very very disappointed as I am normally a huge fan of Vietnamese dishes. Despite all of this Our server was absolutely great and very helpful and equally helped remove the drink from our bill (not without the Im assuming manager shaking his head when our server went to sort this out) which is extremely unprofessional as I know this restaurant has not be open long enough for you to be sick of it just yet. Overall a solid 2/10 -thank you to our server who made the experience...
