Definately a meal of two halves. Starting with the truly great: Pizzas we had were brilliant & £12 per PYO Toppings which included vegan choices, for N'cle city centre is excellent value. £36 spent and worth every penny. Plenty of toppings on all three ordered with nice sauces and cheese. The garlic dip was delicious also. Drinks were about what I expected to pay (and whilst its easy to forget how much a pint is after Covid, in an eatery, Praha is worth £5.20 a pint IMHO but still cant understand why a pint of diet cola is more than £2.50 but there you go). Atmosphere in the place was excellent, music made me smile alot e.g. Blink-182 and Fountains of Wayne. Staff were friendly and helpful, service prompt & defo worth the 10% service charge (and happy to see them get 100% of that). Now, sadly comes the bad bit - starters: whilst the rosemary garlic bread was canny, the Vegan Cheese Bomb far from being firey (was the fire supposed to be provided by thr honey perhaps?) It was a bland damp squib and certainly worth nowhere near what we paid (£7 I think, might have been £6). Deserts: To be blunt, a total rip-off. 3 scoops of vegan vanilla ice cream for £5 with no adornments (and admittedly it mentioned none on the menu, but one kinda expects a wafer or biscuit or sauce on the side for that kind of money) is disgraceful. The other desert was the £7.50 ice cream cookie sandwich - dont be fooled people, its two cookies with two scoops of ice cream on i.e. nothing like, say for instance, an Oreo cookie ice cream. To summarise: Pizza outstanding, atmosphere great for Newcastle dining in - compared to other places around the area - its kid friendly even in early evenings too. Drinks OK, the rest though, personally I wouldnt bother with. Put it this way, three overpriced deserts and one very bland starter added nearly £25 to the bill & whilst not spoiling the night, makes on reflect on the cost of dining out (by which I mean, starter snacks can be got in a supermarket for £2-3 and ice cream £2-3 & vegan pizza can be got at Dominos or Papa Johns for same price thus when one reckons a bottle of lager from Aldi is like £1.39, you can see why people economise - but like I said: The pizzas were A-MA-ZING & Id defo have them again, just not the...

Pre pandemic i really liked this restaurant and often went with work. I've been twice over Xmas 22 period and had similar poor experiences. The first i had a large table booked. I contacted the day before to ask if i was to add an extra person, would it be an issue? I was told it would be, and they couldn't guarantee to squeeze the person on even if we huddled up - which i accepted they would be busy on a saturday. Got to the restaurant to discover the restaurant was incredibly quiet. The service was very slow (but a lot of staff). We cancelled our last round of drinks, which we ordered at the start of the meal and had not received after everyone had finished eating, so we decided to leave before we fell asleep. They also tried to charge for items we hadn't received (ordered but out of stock). The 2nd time was xmas week (thur), and we only went as we had a gift voucher to use. Turned up 1945 and told no tables until 2115. The restaurant had a number of empty tables but accepted that we weren't booked, so they likely were expecting bookings. Looked online to see a lot of availability and got a table booked for 2015. Once seated, we could see the restaurant was quiet. Pizza was very very oily and undercooked. White wine was very warm. There was plenty of staff again... I'll not be going back. I suspect there is emphasis by staff on the takeaway business. I'd rather opt for the different italians further down...

DISCLAIMER: I did not eat in this restaurant for this review. This review was based on being turned away and in the manner in which I was. On Saturday, the 13th of July I entered this restaurant with a party of three at 2:30pm. We waited 6 minutes by the door before anyone even acknowledged us. The greeter did apologize, and asked if we had a reservation. I told her no and asked if they could support a walk-in. She told me they were fully booked for the next three hours (until 5:30). I made the observation that there were ten empty tables and asked if we could be squeezed in. The server scoffed at me and begin scrolling through the tablet. She then said they were fully booked and then told me "look, I'm not lying to you." In what I perceived to be a patronizing and rude tone of voice. She didn't even ask if we wanted a booking for later and said sorry and started walking away. I was attempting to introduce someone to this restaurant as I have been many times before. I think this server should focus more on customer service and less on her dependence on the tablet to do the talking. Really not pleased and think I will be taking business elsewhere in future. I do accept I should have made a reservation, but we got a table elsewhere with no issue. I don't appreciate the way we were spoken to and the tone...

Staff really good, but management could do with some retraining. Watched the manager clean square tables but make them look like they were round, a server clean tables and put the cutlery on a chair only minutes after someone got off that chair. Bins in the kitchen overflowing. We kept getting asked if we needed more drinks all night, (90 mins) 7 times. 1st time being less than 5 minutes of being sat. Wrong menu on the table. Order taken, 15 minutes later server came back to tell us 2 of our pizzas were off the menu, so we ordered others. But when your main gets brought to you before your starter that says a lot. We were asked if we wanted to keep our pizzas in the oven till we had finished with our starter!!!! NO. So we ended up with main and starter together. Well I ended up with my starter 10 minutes later, as it was missed of the order. (they did take it off the bill) All the pizzas were OK, but for a place that shouts out about being different and specially pizzas nope. Overpriced. I can't find the nutritional info on the website, why hide it. As I have never woken up in the middle of the night wanting loads of Water. HIDDEN Salt in the pizzas. Why oh why.... I feel like a have a hangover, thanks. Never again.
