Visitsd today with Boyfriend and Brother as I was sent a voucher code for my birthday for free main course. Booked with no trouble easy booking system and easily adjusted the time it was booked for, friendly and polite lady who answered the phone. When arrived waited a few moments to be seated as not many staff. Then a rather cold seeming maitre de greeted us with no smile, courtesy or manners we made to feel we were bothering him we were a nuisance and inconvenience (not a good feeling for your birthday) he was cold impersonal and rather snappy when asked when he needed my voucher code. Drinks arrived quickly and were delicious. Food orders taken again rather cold impersonal and annoyed manner almost felt like apologising for being there. The pizzas were delicious, arrived quickly, loads of toppings, excellent value for money. It has to be said that the waitress who served us was an utter delight, so charming, warm, friendly and attentive such a beautiful smile and very bubbly and helpful. Praise must go to the kitchen staff as even my Boyfriend who is a chef and studied/worked in Italy was impressed. Very interesting veggie food ideas. Another waitress who bought the bill was so kind, took voucher code whilst chatting having a laugh and banter. In contrast to the first gentleman who I watched and never smiled or showed anyone any politeness. He new I was there for birthday but no attempt to make it special. Other than him I would return.

I booked this venue for a family meal. Booked online very easily for 12 people. When we arrived we saw put us at a large table right at the serving hatch and as we got seated, a waiter with a bit of a comb over tutted at me as he was trying to get plates to take to customers. If the table us in the way, don't put it there!!! However once we got seated and our lovely waiter came over, our meal was superb. He was polite and friendly and super helpful. Our food was delicious and came surprisingly quickly. Everyone agreed it was delicious. Several of our group had a pulled pork pizza which we can recommend. Overall, really good and will be back. Limited parking on grey street. Disabled access and toilet downstairs if required. Decent menu and choice of drinks.

No second followed up on my complaint. One of their staff gave me poor service that I never experienced in other Zizzi. I edited my comment again because it wasn’t great honestly. Let me clarify what they he did: -didn’t offered pasta crisps while I was waiting my main course (ON PURPOSE because before I left there was a lot them and didn’t offered one to me) -didn’t asked and offered Parmesan cheese on my main course as shown on the picture. He just left after he served it. -gave me a broken takeaway box Very very very petty. I swear I didn’t make up anything I mentioned. If you had a great experience, good for you. Me, not so lucky. My visit was in February.

Booked a meal for my girlfriends birthday weekend weeks in advance. Had a text the day before to confirm all was good for our party of 8.

We show up there at 4.30 on the day to be told via a sign on the door the restaurant was closed to ‘unforeseen circumstances’. NOBODY attempted to contact us or let us know beforehand, leaving us all very stressed and upset having to rebook on a busy Saturday at another restaurant in Newcastle, messing up our entire plans as this process took over an hour of stressful calls.

Nathan, the general manager who refused to give me his full name, accused me of being a liar on the phone just now saying they left a voicemail at 1.13pm (3 hours before the booking time), and that they ‘definitely contacted us’.

What Nathan couldn’t seem to comprehend was the fact that even if we WERE left a voicemail (we weren’t), the fact multiple attempts of repeated communication weren’t attempted is an absolute disgrace. No repeated calls. No emails. No texts. Just excuses and a completely unprofessional demeanour on the phone just now.

I was promised an email or a call today to help with compensation. Got nothing all day until I called at 9:40 to be told “oh yeh we were just about to send the email”. They’ve also lied about sending me the complaint process and told me it’s futile as it’ll end in the same outcome, essentially indirectly telling me I shouldn’t complain for this absolute mess?????

I have never been so appalled and frankly disgusted by the rude and disgraceful management of customer service… I am raising this on all platforms to as many people as I can and will be repeatedly reaching out to senior management and head office until I am delivered both an apology and compensation.

Frankly, YOU should be ashamed...

You walk in through the glass doors and the spices just engulf you. It smells amazing, looking around there's a very elegant rustic feel to the place a relaxed, yet gentle buzz. A warm and romantic ambiance. It's cosy on size but the tables are just as rustic as the decor. I was the awkward typical woman on our trip to Newcastle who had a craving for shrimp at 9.30pm. We stumbled across this place and was not disappointed in any way. When seated, we were advised due to the hour unfortunately starters had finished but after reading the menu the shrimp were a starter (commonly). I politely sulked that my fishy cravings shall have to be endured and the wonderful waiter popped off to the kitchen to check if the shrimp could be done. He went out if his way for absolutely no reason, we would have still eaten there but that kind gesture was greatly appreciated and might I add delicious too! The food was amazing and me and my partner both left extremely happy. Our waiter even directed us and provided wonderful locations for a cheeky night cap. Absolutely...
