I do not know for the life of me how this place got all of the good reviews that it has⊠It is an absolutely despicable excuse for a Peruvian restaurant. I came here expecting the best food in the world i.e. Peruvian food, but what I got served was anything but. The restaurant was completely empty upon arrival and half of the menu wasnât even Peruvian cuisine. Not only half of the menu, but also half of the kitchen prepares Greek food. When I asked the ownerâs wife why half of it was Greek, she said to me âItâs in order to keep the restaurant aliveâ and I just thought to myself, what kind of pathetic excuse is that to keep a business afloat? They cannot even source fresh seafood either, despite being only about half an hour from the ocean. They use raw fish that has been FROZEN and then thawed to make ceviche; Absolutely disgusting⊠Not only that but I ordered an Inca kola (the national (soft) drink of Peru) as stated on the menu, but instead was given some fake knock-off drink called âAmerica kolaâ which looked the same but tasted of fake concentrate and nothing like actual Inca kola. The only thing I could even eat was the lomo saltado (stir-fried beef with rice). Do yourself a favour and donât waste...

I recently visited this Peruvian restaurant in Newcastle with high expectations after seeing positive reviews online, but left completely disappointed.
The service was chaotic from the start - we were never sure if our order had been taken or if they even had the items we requested. The staff seemed disorganized and inattentive throughout our visit.
The drinks were a major letdown. The pisco sour, which should be a highlight at any Peruvian establishment, was clearly made with artificial lime juice. It was bland, tasteless, and frankly overpriced for such poor quality.
The food was equally disappointing. The ceviche, a signature Peruvian dish, lacked any flavor whatsoever. What was supposed to be "camote" (sweet potato) was actually just an undercooked regular potato. The causa limeña was another failure, tasteless and with minimal filling inside.
The only somewhat decent item was the yuca, which had a good crunch, but tasted overwhelmingly of oil.
We had been excited to discover a Peruvian restaurant during our visit to Newcastle, but this experience fell far short of authentic Peruvian cuisine. Save your money and look elsewhere if you want to enjoy genuine...
