If I could give 0 stars I would. I had an absolutely appalling experience at this club on Saturday night. I was visiting my sister with a friend who is a student at Newcastle University. We paid Ā£11 entry each and my sister paid Ā£3 under an industry ticket. We then tried to go past the bouncer who collects the tickets and my sister couldnāt seem to find hers. The bouncer had been a maximum of 2 metres away from the pay desk and had just watched us hand over Ā£25 collectively. When she couldnāt seem to find it, I asked if there wasnāt any way we could go through seeing as he had just seen us pay and she had the receipt from her payment, but apparently that wasnāt good enough and she had to show the other paper ticket. I then dared to suggest that I didnāt actually remember her being given one and his response was, āgo back and collect your money and get out.ā In complete and utter shock, I literally just said āwhat?!ā, to which he replied āactually itās too late, you canāt have your money back just get out now.ā He then summoned one of the door men to lead me away; I hadnāt been rude in the slightest and I hadnāt been anything even close to violent. Neither the lady on the pay desk nor the bouncer that led me away could actually look me in the eye because they knew the reaction was completely disproportionate. I understand the staff may sometimes have to deal with difficult people but I can absolutely assure you that I was not one of them. I left the club quietly after asking to apologise for speaking even though I hadnāt done anything wrong, and I was in absolute floods of tears because our night was ruined and weād had Ā£25 literally stolen from us. Apparently this man is the head of security which is why the other members of staff apologised to me and said they couldnāt help because āonce heās made up his mind thatās itā; he is a complete and utter disgrace. For some reason they donāt seem to be concerned in the slightest because the club gets filled with people anyway, but any self-respecting business should care about their customers and their reputation. A couple of bad reviews would be understandable but there are streams of them across the internet. Maybe they should actually listen to the people who are writing them instead of making pathetic excuses for a man who clearly gets a kick out of upsetting...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe bouncers were unfriendly at best. After having entered and drunk my second drink of the night, I was talking to my friend sitting on the stairs. They eventually went off to the toilets, and I continued sitting where I was. A bouncer came up to me, grabbed me, and put me in a tight head-lock while I was texting on my phone (I can only assume they thought I was so drunk that I had to sit down on the stairs, despite being sober). He started to drag me down the stairs. I pulled his arm away, not being able to breathe - again, sober. My only guess to what happened next was that my nails had dug into his arms, because supposedly he had told the other bouncers that I had attacked and bitten him on the arm at random. They then beat me up, and continued to when I was out and down the path from the club, leaving me bruised and bleeding on the pavement. Everyone else present said I'd done nothing wrong, questioned the bouncers and disagreed with their responses. In the UK, as a bouncer it is illegal to use physical force against anyone who has not physically threatened anyone else. It is also the law that when you accuse someone as such, that you provide proof. Yet when questioned, even by me continuously, their only excuse was 'my colleague mate said you bit him' - even if it were true, it would be illegal to use more extreme physical force. I unfortunately didn't seek the police, who would've warranted the security tapes and taken action. This is not uncommon. If you look at the Google reviews, Facebook reviews, or anecdotal evidence, it is common.
Despite that, it's expense, and often empty. The staff are unfriendly, and people only really give this place good reviews over a lack of options and drunkenness. This is one of the worst clubs, and gay clubs,...
Read moreI checked in here on Saturday, paid £20 as entrance charges, got my first beer and was just enjoying this. I excused myself from the bar we were in to go check out the other bars. I understand they have 3 bars in total within the club, so I had already seen two wanted to see what the third one was like.
On my way, a bouncer approached me and said I needed to leave ...I inquired on what basis. He said I had harrassed somebody. I insisted I wanted to see the somebody who I had harrased since I had only spoken to two guys that we had come into the club with, from another club. Didn't speak to anyone else or even interacted in any manner with anyone else. I insisted to speak to the head of security but he wouldn't hear any of it. Just maintained I need to leave as he picked the remaining beer. This is barely 30 mins into...
I burst out laughing because this was just ridiculous, and I left. Its a club anyway, am here for pleasure, to spend money not make money so I walked out of all the BS.
Within the 50-60 mins I was there, (between QUEUING to pay and my eviction), there were no less than 3 fights, inside and outside the club with the very many bouncers running up and down to manage the situation. It looked like an active war zone.
