Food was delicious and the lady serving me was nice and friendly. Food was served within ten minutes of ordering (bit suspicious but it is stew),and the portion was big. Despite this, I am angry. I ordered Saffron rice, Saffron chicken and Saffron tea. Only the Saffron Chicken had a little Saffron it it. If you don't have Saffron, you should say. I didn't pay £20 for the wrong thing. This is not the first time this has happened with exactly the same items and a different server. I have ordered Saffron tea here before and it had Saffron in it but when you have run out, you don't say. The waitress said the manufacturer claims there is Saffron in their tea. It tasted like Do Ghazal Tea which does not contain Saffron at all. The rice was stained with Haldi to give the impression it contained Saffron (forgotten it's name) and didn't smell or taste like Saffron - it was plain, boiled rice. On previous occasions, I have eaten the Fesenjan and Baklava which are delicious. Stop lying to your customers, your prices should be able to compensate for Saffron. Saffron water is made by soaking the stamen in water. Can't you do this? Your staff in the kitchen and restaurant on this occasion - very nice. Your menu...
Read moreWe stumbled upon Persia almost by chance while looking for a quick but satisfying meal before a concert—and what a lucky find it turned out to be!
From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. They promised we'd be served in time for our event, and not only did they keep their word, but they made us feel truly looked after. We had a great chat with two of the team—genuine, friendly people who clearly care about their guests.
We ordered Ghormeh Sabzi and Kofte (a special Persian recipe) along with Ayran to drink. The food was absolutely delicious—beautifully seasoned, rich in flavour, and freshly prepared. I also finished with a cup of Persian black tea—simple but authentic.
The whole place felt clean, open, and inviting. And the best part? Everything was very reasonably priced—£47 including tip for a top-notch meal and warm service in the heart of Newcastle.
Persia turned out to be a highlight of our day, and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town. Highly...
Read moreI had really nice experience in this restaurant , everything was good , i liked the home feel ,staff kindness and of course the food was top quality especially the Nans, this is one of the rare restaurants for which reviews actually match reality, Antonio did all what he could to make feel comfortable and happy, i wanted a fresh mint tea at the end and i got it and i dont think this is standard menu offer , another gentleman in the kitchen was very kind and attentive also, he saw me glancing to the very appealing dessert (baklawa like) and kindly offered me to taste it and that was delicious (authentic taste and crunch ), i cant tell you if this is authentic Persian or not as i dont know much about Persian food , the food is very similar to oriental food and tastes really good i have enjoyed everything i have ordered .dont hesitate a second to go and try their dishes you will be delighted. something to know is there is a 10% service charge...
