Avoid and pick another restaurant. 1st and last visit! Some things not available yet not advised when we sat down so we had to pick alternatives. Appeared to be more than one menu but not every table were given all menus, we certainly werent. The food that arrived at the table was awful, possibly the worst chinese we have had. 1 item was completely the wrong thing. Ribs were wafer thin slices in a luke warm sauce, steamed dumplings swimming in water, buns had exploded and were stuck to paper and the fried dumplings stodgy. Some of our meal never arrived. I just wish id taken photos. Not one person asked us if everything was ok or if we needed more drinks. We asked for the bill to see we had been charged for what didnt arrive, the item we had been given incorrectly, along with drinks we didnt order. When we questioned the bill we were asked are you sure because if definitely left the kitchen, we were made to feel like liars. You could see from the dishes left on the table we never received them yet it took 4 different people to sort. No apology at all. When we had paid for both the terrible food and service the manager who didnt want to help with the bill came over and eventually apologised blaming their new system and a transition period. The biggest waste of money ever as we left just as hungry as...

I was surprised that despite it being a Monday afternoon, the restaurant was packed. It's a testament of how good the food is. I came to know of this spot thanks to the invitation of Freda, a fellow doctor colleague back in Malaysia. All the way from Middlesbrough, she spent a day in Newcastle JUST for Chinatown's amazing cuisines.
The food was truly delicious. -Hor Fun with beef which was richly marinated, with tangy thick rice noodles. -Roasted Duck Rice. The duck was succulent and juicy, perfectly roasted, and complementing the fragrant oiled rice. -Dim Sum - beef with chilli, not too spicy -Chrysanthemum tea, freshly brewed in a teapot, with rock sugar at the side
Mr Robert, the owner, attended to us and was most friendly. This spot is a lovely place for great...
Read moreI have been to 4-5 restaurants in this street, but sky is my favourite and the staff are brilliant, food is beautiful especially Robert he made us feel very welcome. Can't wait to go next week for the lobster dish it looked amazing. UPDATE we returned on the 27th of August and it was a totally different experience. It was a total shambles we were sat down the staff took our drinks order. We ordered dim sum. The items came 10 minutes apart we had no plates or cuterly we had to ask for them. Then our starters came then literally our mains came while we were still eating our starters, 2 of the mains we got came sweet even tho we asked the staff if they were sweet or spicy because I can't eat sweet stuff we had to ask for plates and cuterly again But had to make do with what we got. It's a shame because the week before it was the best ever. To be fair they seemed...
