A xenophobic and non-educated pub.

This is a warning for all international people that wants to have a good night at a pub in Newcastle: don't choose this one.

Yesterday it was the Champion’s League Final and we were up to watch the game, we just wanted to have fun. However, because of the unpreparedness of the bartender in recognizing a legitimate international ID, we could not. She said that she had never seen a Brazilian ID, and because of that, she could not guarantee that it was real, which was so embarrassing. We don't need to falsify our IDs, and we also don t need to walk with our passports everywhere; you should be able to identify non-english IDs and if you're not there is a problem with your pub.

Not recognizing international IDs is also an act of ignorance and xenophobIa. The clients have to be treated in the same way, whether they are international of not. If you would never ask for an English person use their passports in a pub, don't do that with international people (it's a very important document for you to walk around with it). We were also so embarrassed by the whole situation because we kept arguing how wrong was this, and how outsider she was making us feel, which caused a drama and stopped the queue. The bartender was so non educated about how to deal with international IDs that she almost RUINED out night. We had to leave our friends there which made us miss half of the game.

I live in England for so long and that never happened to me or my friends before. I've never been so mistreated in my life for someone making me feel an outsider. I'll never put my feet into The Junctions ever again.

Frustranting, disappointed,...

We visited here for the first time yesterday and have to say we were left disappointed. Overall as a group of 9 we spent around £200 or more on food and drinks but the food was below average and very overpriced . A portion of chips here which was around 10-15 chips served in a miniature pie dish of all things was £2.79. Absolutely disgraceful . I wish I had taken a picture but if anyone gets these from here you will see what I mean. We went to order the nacho sharer but was told they'd run out of nachos but judging by a photo of these on another person's review I'm pleased we didn't get it.The chicken sharer platter was average but not enough to share overall. A single person could eat that easily. We also had to take our own empty glasses to the bar twice as nobody came round. There were only a few members of staff who seemed bothered to be there to be honest , the others had miserable faces and didn't look interested. We got there an hour after opening yet every cubicle in the ladies toilets didn't have any toilet roll . It was rectified after telling the staff but surely this should be a normal check before opening up! Also the male toilets had no toilet roll and had wee all over the floor. The general cleanliness was poor . A member of our party had ordered a gin and had to take the same glass back for a refill as we were told they didn't have enough glasses. Would like to say we would come back here but it's definitely not value for money and the general cleanliness was bad so unfortunately I...

Gone down hill this place staff were miserable food was tastless waited ages after ordering & when the food come it was cold made a complaint that fell on deaf ears to the lad behind the bar didnt want to know and was rude and obnoxious. Prices are getting expensive for what u get. Won't be going back after been going there for years on and off. As to there response over the last 6 days sent emails and said they would look into it. Then today sent 3 emails with out a reply. Utter joke don't waste your money at this place its now the pits. Had a email of the GM John Chandller never got back to me when I replied absolute jobsworth. The whole company is a joke. Now been intouch with head office to take it further. Terrible. Put more reviews up on TripAdvisor ect. Who ever John Chandller is he is in the wrong job completely. A manager who ignored emails after saying he would resolve the matter. Avoid. Looking at the other reviews on here seems there has been alot of complaints about cold food and staff who are running the company down cause they have know idea what there doing & are missrable as sin. No wonder there losing customers. When u spend 50 odd pound on food u at least expect it to be 🔥 hot. As for there response nothing short of a joke. Spend your money...

My friends and I have met in this pub for years with no issues however, on Tuesday we were bitterly disappointed with the food we were presented with. We ordered the squid starter, chicken strips, nacho sharer and rosemary and salt fries. The food was cold when it arrived. The portions were inadequate for the price paid. The food was returned after we expressed our disgust and fresh food supplied. Portions inadequate, little topping on nachos with cheese sauce used, as opposed to proper cheese., and minimal slivers of jalapeños. The salsa was more like ketchup. There was no rosemary or salt on the fries and the squid was 4 tiny pieces with garnish as a disguise. We raised concerns about the food with the staff and were advised they were sorry but couldn't do anything about it, so why apologise!. In these unprecedented times when we are encouraged to support the pubs and restaurants to keep them viable do not charge your customers increased prices for inadequate food . Treat your customers with respect and stop taking advantage of them. We will not purchase food here again. Very poor

Food was unreal I had the pizza platter with deep fried Ravioli was amazing first time trying it deffinatly won't be the last, there were so many flies in the bar it's a serious issue when people are eating food, staff were very nice however as we moved from upstairs to downstairs to leave we noticed 2 chefs smoking in full uniform, was not a good sight, overall it is a really good place to grab a drink and some good food but a few issues deffinatly need addressed.

My husband and I visited today and I'm so glad we were not disappointed. We ordered from the 2 for £15 menu he got the gammon and I got the chicken shawarma flatbread omg 10/10. The place is great and even the staff are a little tasty we will definitely make a return! Also... I'm nosey and I over heard the male waiter having to deal with 3 queen Karen's asking a million questions about vegan food he handled it like a boss haha
