i cant lie this place is so gentrified its insane… why is there apricots and walnuts on the turkish eggs???? WHY SO MANY???? when i sent it to my turkish friend she just said ā€œwhite pplā€¦ā€ IT COST Ā£14 MIND YOU! oh and Ā£4.50 for 2 sausages…. so for Ā£18 you can get 2 eggs, a pile of walnuts and apricot and a tiny bit of yoghurt. There was more walnuts than yoghurt. Oh, and its Ā£1 if you want chocolate on your latte, so an iced mocha is Ā£5 ! listen this is worse pricing than london. I just cant believe how much they charge. they asked if we wanted to tip before we had got our food. just insane pricing for Newcastle edit because the owner got mad: I did a geography degree, I know what gentrification is. I also have worked in 2 coffee shops over tbe last 2 years, i love making a mocha!! i work in service so know how much it struggles. i also know, during a cost of living crisis, that eating out is a luxury for many and i reserve the right to be outraged by prices :) we were sat outside so we had to pay first and were asked to tip. you should look up reverse racism because you dont seem to understand it. have a nice day!

I could not recommend this place any more. Great place ! I love coming back here, sometimes even by myself. They have the best avocado in toast I ever had in any cafe. They always add extra touch to it and taste so delicious! Today I have decided to try their special coffee menu. It was my first time try so I have asked for the recommendation. I got recommended natural, parama geisha. In beginning I was quite sceptic, as fruity coffee.. how can it be tasty ? And some special brewing method .. why would it be any better than normal brewed coffee ? After today’s experience, I can say openly worth a try! The coffee had the comforting taste with the element of sweet and sour. Never had anything like that. The brewing showcase was quite interesting, the gentleman took me through the process and described different types of roasting and different tastes, which was really educational. If you like your coffee and want to try something new , it’s much recommended ! The experience is really worth it ! Cafe generally has really nice ambience, relaxing music and WiFi if you need to finish your work as well :p

During my visit to Newcastle, my friend introduced me to Tiny Tiny, a cozy specialty coffee shop in Carliol Square. We shared the Block & Bottle smoked streaky bacon and fried egg stottie, which featured local dry-cured smoked streaky bacon, a heritage fried egg, and onion ketchup. The portion was generous, and the flavors were incredible, making it a memorable dish. The coffee was also outstanding, perfectly complementing the hearty breakfast. For those unfamiliar, a stottie (or stotty) is a type of bread originating from North East England. It's a round, flat loaf with a heavy, dense texture. The name comes from the Geordie word "stot," which means to bounce, referring to the bread's thick and robust consistency. Traditionally, stotties were baked on the floor of the oven, giving them a distinctive texture and flavor that makes them perfect for hearty fillings. Tiny Tiny's warm ambiance, excellent service, and quality offerings make it a must-visit spot in Newcastle, especially for coffee and brunch lovers.

3.5/5. Been trying all the independent coffee shops in Newcastle, and was really excited to try this place after seeing everybody rave about it. Even the Uber driver who took me there was saying it’s his favourite place, and was really passionate talking about it, and seemed hyped that I was trying it for the first time. Perhaps I just went here with unrealistically high expectations but I was a little underwhelmed. Don’t get me wrong, the coffee wasn’t bad by any means, I still enjoyed it, just not as much as I thought I would, I have had better. The Mexican bean rancheros was pretty good, as was the lemon and poppyseed muffin. The service was decent, and the interior was unique, had more character than a lot of coffee shops. I don’t want to be harsh, it’s above average, and I have nothing bad to say other than it didn’t live up to the hype but maybe that’s on me for expecting so much. If I just casually walked into this place off the street for some lunch and coffee, I would have really liked it, it’s just the preconceptions I had. I’m clearly in the minority though, I’m sure this is a lot of people’s number one spot in the toon, and always a delight to see an independent place gain a...

I had an awesome day getting work done at Flat Caps today. They met and exceeded my expectations of a coffee shop.

Plenty of good options to choose from for food and drink. I personally ordered a latte with almond milk, the avocado on sourdough(Mexican) with an added 2 poached eggs. After breakfast/lunch I went back and got a pour over(filtered?) coffee that was out of this world delicious with no milk! I just love when you can get a coffee and enjoy it for the simple pure taste of it. I would order it every time. I also stayed hydrated with the water they generously provide at the front(that they never let run outšŸ™‚). The bonus to it all was the dark chocolate selection they have. I went for the 100% dark of single origin, just like their coffees by the wayšŸ˜‰.

On top of all that, the bathrooms were clean and well stocked. There were plenty of tables and even some with outlets. There were lots of pastries to choose from that I did not try, but that is what subsequent visits are made for!

The staff were really friendly and nice. Someone is obviously on top of it here in organization. It is not easy to make a business look and run this good.

So do yourself a favor and go try...
