What was once a regular eatery I would choose for my family and I to dine in is now given a rather wide berth. On our last occasion visiting Bevano, my husband and I selected various tapas dishes between us - totally around 8 dishes. During the evening we were both violently sick and waylaid in the lavatory throughout the night! Other members in our household were not unwell at all. I decided to contact Bevano out of courtesy to inform them of our ill health following a visit, simply for the sake of giving them a "heads up" in case other people had experienced something similar. Had this been myself, I would have checked the best before dates on ingredients, their storage and chatted to the kitchen staff. Whilst we never once claimed our illness was bevause of Bevano we did discuss that the only way to "prove" it was, involved providing samples to our drs and by the Monday - our bout of illness has resolved. Nethertheless - it would have been courteous of Bevano to offer us a partial refund considering we spent the weekend vomiting up the contents of our meals or a visit back on the house. Sadly they did not therefore the customer service and consideration for customers is low. And seeing as I have our vomit induced weekend engrained in my memory, it is a firm deterrent for any future visits!

*Update FAO Owner: I contacted you directly and you had little to say of the matter other than advising us to see a doctor. It is therefore quite ironic that you claim I did not. We had quite an indepth written conversation. The beauty of Google Review is that I can leave a review without feeling intimidated by owners like yourself or have the nature of my complaint diminished like you have done. I reiterate also that my review states "Whilst we never once claimed Bevano was the cause of our illness..." it is too strong a coincidence that the two were interlinked...

Really very happy and impressed by the Drago Lounge. We went on a Monday just before 5 and it was already busy. It's a big room with an assortment of tables to seat parties of any size, and a pleasingly quirky array of chairs. There's various artwork on the walls, and a bookshelf on rhe far wall. There was lots of friendly hubbub. In short, there was a very welcoming atmosphere that made me think anyone a bit nervy about dining alone would feel very comfortable here. Two things stood out: the food -reasonably priced, good helpings, and really delicious - and the staff. We interacted with Stevie and Gunnar who seemed to be running the whole thing. They're brilliant! As I mentioned, the place was busy, but the service was flawless, came with a smile, and they made it look easy... also finding time for a chat. This tells me that not only are they very good at their jobs, they're also both good, decent people. We ate a veg Sri Lankan curry, reportedto be not dissimilar to food we ate in Sri Lanka, and a fab brisket burger - really tasty. Desserts were a yummy warm. chocolate brownie and an intriguing concoction called a Tiramischoux. We'll be going back. Not just for the food, but also because we're safe in the knowledge that we're going to be met with the friendliness as well as efficiency that made our first visit so...

Used to love this place, been a customer since it opened. Booked a very special party of 19. It was horrendous, they had booked another party of 45 at the same time, really,,,,, . They had all of the 45 people stood up by bar moving tables around, 6.30 on a busy Sat night,,, They split our party up, which was no need an ill thought out, we may have had half of us sat in Las Iguanas next door. One of our party arrived 30 mins before and said they changed our table from 1 long one to 2 seperate ones. What topped it off was the attitude of I think the manageress who kept harrassing me saying " how can we make it right" not really much you could do on a busy Sat night now and the Supervisor who wouldnt give me her or his name. He stood infront of the " manageress" and said " dont talk to her you have upset her", really,,,, you have just ruined our night He blatantly stood by the kitchen hatch glaring at us with one of the kitchen staff. They then ignored us, never cleared glasses or plates. Bring back old manager, Sarb, we have had a lot of big parties in there over the years and none have ever been like this. So disapointed in the attitude. Shame...

Food was delicious. Arrived fairly quickly and hot. The service staff were friendly but seemed overwhelmed. You order via a qr code at the table which is convenient I suppose but means you have little to no interaction with the service staff. So I find it quite cheeky that the order asks if you want to add on a tip. The ordering style really effects the atmosphere when ordering as a group too. It's quite segregating. I can't imagine how difficult it is for the chefs to see 8 separate orders come in for the same table and manage to get the food out at the same time. The decor is similar to all other lounges, funky and warm. This lounge could do with a deep clean. Tables were sticky, sofas stained and chairs in need of a wipe. There was also no toilet paper in the ladies for most of the evening despite several customers asking. We were here for the weekly quiz and still thoroughly enjoyed.

Decided to go to Drago Lounge for a meal with my boyfriend for my birthday today. I have been to Ocho and Juno lounge in Cardiff and so whilst we were in Newport I really fancied a breakfast from Drago. First time visiting, greeted by a lovely server with who was bubbly and full of personality. Very helpful and chatty. She even ran into the rain to bring our meals in as we decided to sit outside as the weather seemed fine and sunny - but then took a turn for the worst very quickly!(Typical Welsh weather) This server made our day. Amazing experience.

So glad to have discovered this place today for lunch. We were greeted with a warm welcome and the team continued to provide great service. The atmosphere is cosy and eclectic, there is something to see in every corner. The food was amazing, beautifully cooked, generous portions and reasonable sizes. On a side note but definitely worth a mention and to me really proves the standard of a place, the toilets were immaculate despite the restaurant being really busy. I only wish I lived closer so I could pop in more often.
