KINN KINN Newport — Restaurant in Newport

I can’t comment on the service or atmosphere as I ate at Newport Market so left these at 3 stars. The food though was unbelievably disappointing. I ordered vegan sticky chicken rice bowl and it was £17 for a small bowl of plain, unseasoned white rice with stir fried onion and green peppers, and what I think was Quorn chicken nuggets cut in half covered in BBQ sauce. There was nothing Thai about it. It’s not that the food was bad, but it felt more like a TGI Fridays kids meal than anything else. Thai food is supposed to be fragrant, fresh and full of flavour but this was nothing like that. The Thai place that used to be in the market was so good hence why I even risked paying £17 in the first place but that price for that meal is shocking. Really delicious food from Kinn Kinn Thai. Plenty of vegan options but both my partner and I had the vegan prawn and veg pad Thai and spring rolls with sweet chilli sauce.

Pad Thai was full of flavour and a good sized portion. It came quickly and we really enjoyed our meal.

Will definitely visit again if we’re ever...
