P Cafe Newport — Restaurant in Newport

I don't often leave a negative review, but my first experience here was definitely lack lustre. The server was nice but couldn't hear/understand anyone ordering and had no clear "order point" or "collection point", which made it awkward.

Secondly, the older bald gentleman making my drink was on the phone the entire time and just shoved a drink toward the end with no indication as to what it was and whether it was mine, which was off-putting.

Thirdly, I ordered a lemon cake topped with cream and lemon icing, the server put this in a bag and advised me "it'll be stuck to the top by the way"... So why offer it that way? Surely you can figure out a better plan that shoving it in and ruining a, quite frankly, pricey cake! Awful service and processes.

I personally won't be going back as there are many better options in Newport, sadly I really had high hopes for this place.

I really hope that animal lovers read this . my wife and myself were having a very standard coffee outside this place .a few disabled pigeons landed at our feet ...poor loves .some had feet missing and stumps to walk on ,heartbreaking to see .one had wire wrapped around his ankle so I felt compelled to try to help .a young waitress with glasses and dark hair came out hitting disabled birds with a broom .I was horrify that someone could be so cruel to a animal in distress .this waitress then was aggressive with myself and my wife because I said to her don't be so cruel have a heart .I really hope that the owner sacks her and animal lovers call her to account for her actions .thanks...
