Barnstaple Bakery — Restaurant in North Devon

Plastic inside pasties! Brought three cornish pasties at lunchtime. The chicken and leek was luke warm, the beef and vegetable a bit warmer, but the the traditional one had a surprise inside. Unfortunately it was supposed to be my pasty but due to the chicken and leek basically being cold, I gave the traditional one to my girlfriend. It was piping hot, but the surprise was a blue piece of plastic half way through the pasty, after my girlfriend had nearly eaten the whole thing. We immediately took it back and spoke to the male manager. He wouldn't give the money back for the chicken and leek, but did for the plastic included traditional pasty. He blamed it on outside suppliers making them, but you could see them putting freshly made pasties into the oven, so not sure about the explanation Never going there again. The pasties...

Came here today on our first day on holiday. We ordered a few cakes and some pastries which were lovely. We also ordered some hot drinks. My mum ordered a decaf black americano however we discovered that they had put milk in her coffee despite her having a milk allergy! We went back to the store to ask if they put milk in it and turns out they did. They didn’t seem bothered as to what they had done but little do they know this would ruin our holiday as our mum is now in bed ill. We explain how she can’t have milk and there was little empathy for their mistake. Our mum works demanding hours and was looking forward to this holiday especially as we don’t see each others much and now she has to spent it in bed feeling ill. Never...

Came to Devon last week and while visiting barnstaple decided to pick up some snacks for lunch, Am so pleased we choose to buy here, There pasties, sausage rolls, cheese and onion slices, and ham and mushroom slices were delicious, They were the best we had while down in devon, the staff were so friendly I haven't got a bad word to say, Just gutted that I never got chance to return...
