Watergate YARD — Restaurant in North Kesteven

I hired The Yard venue in Sleaford Market Place for my partner’s surprise birthday party. From the start, the team were so professional and helpful, in particular Ann, who is the best party planner buddy anyone could ask for. She thought of everything and nothing was too much trouble - as well as being very patient with a million questions from me over the nine months we were planning the event.

The venue is perfect for a medium to large gathering and has everything you would expect, including the option to have a late bar licence, an accessible entrance for guests with accessibility needs and clear pricing for food, welcome drinks and hire charges, with no hidden, last minute costs. Ann was also happy to liaise with other suppliers to make sure everything was in place for the surprise, which was a huge help and reassurance.

Ann, Hollie and the rest of the team were absolutely brilliant on the night, helping with everything from the cake, the music and karaoke and of course having to contend with a number of spills and broken glasses with patience and grace. We had guests from all over the country and they were impressed with the venue.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Yard for any event. As well as being the perfect venue, it’s the excellent team that really makes it. You should all be so very proud of what you’ve created and thank you for helping us to make so many...

Lovely setting and food was good. The service, however, was terrible. We had a table booked but had to seat ourselves. There was only one already established table in the restaurant who were nearly finished when we sat ourselves down, after being ignored buy the waiter. 5 to 10 mins came and went and we got menus from the original tables customers, due to still waiting.... a few more tables came in and were seated, they were attended to for drinks and then food ordered before even acknowledging us so my partner went to the bar to order instead, the reluctant bar tender took his order, even though it "wasn't his job!". We pointed out we had been missed several times and hoped that would change things going forward.... sadly it didn't and the young male waiter still continued to miss us for checking in or further drinks. It wasn't until a change in staff and I can only assume was the owner, that we were acknowledged and spoken to and then treated...

We arrived on Thursday 13th For a 2 night stay after seeing 4in a Bed.We were greeted by Anne & stayed in the twin room. We went into town for drinks & returned for drinks & food. Ryan sat with us & told us about the accommodation etc. Food & drink choice great staff friendly & very accommodating. Breakfast tasty & plentiful. Valentines 💌 we had our bedroom decorated with roses balloons & petals a wonderful surprise. The valentines meal deal 2 cocktails, a choice of 5 sharing plates plus dessert to share was plentiful - delicious thanks @£45. Hayley Tom Anne & ofcoarse Ryan amazing staff & hosts would recommend 100% well deserved winners of 4 in a bed. No parking but we used Just Park & parked @ Sainsbury’s a 5min walk. Well worth a visit can’t wait...
