Absolutely amazing! What an incredible addition to the area, I legitimately think it's the best pizza I have ever had. We loved this place so much that we visited twice in 3 days and plan on returning again before our trip to Wells-Next-The-Sea comes to an end in a few days. The staff are so friendly, so accommodating and interactive. The food is INCREDIBLE. A small menu that does what it does best but allows for any customisation. It's so refreshing to have something new and exciting come to Wells, we've been visiting for many years and do so several time a year and Flour is the most exciting eatery to come to the town in a long, long time. The first night my wife and I ordered the Hot Chick (with added pepperoni) and a Margherita (with added olives) alongside a the harissa dip and pistachio pesto dip plus a couple of beers and wines. It was so so good that we couldn't stop talking about what we'd try on our next visit. We couldn't finish it so staff boxed it up for us. On our second visit we tried the Fire Starter (with added pepperoni) and another Margherita (with added olives and rocket) this time trying the tomato dip - EVEN BETTER! The Fire Starter was our absolute favourite and we agreed it's the best pizza we'd both ever had.
Huge cheers to Flour and their team for bringing something so amazing, fresh and exciting...
Read moreI have very mixed feelings about my visit to Flour. The food was absolutely spot on, the pizza was delicious, with a perfectly crisp base, rich tomato sauce, and fresh toppings. If I were judging purely on the food, I’d give it five stars without hesitation.
However, the service was a real letdown. One member of staff was unbelievably rude and dismissive, acting as though customers were more of a nuisance than anything else. We asked for a table but was given an 2 word response “1 hour”, when trying to ask if we could order a takeaway instead he just walked away uninterested in giving a response, and feel they could have given us a potential time to come back or made some sort of suggestion but I felt they could hardly be bothered to acknowledge me. Their attitude was shockingly unprofessional, which completely took away from the enjoyment of the meal. After standing for 10 minutes another waitress came and served us.
It’s such a shame because the food is excellent, but with service like that, I’m not sure I’d be in a hurry to return. We regularly order to takeaway from here however this time with family visiting thought it would be a nice place to sit in and catch up with family over good food. Unfortunately their first impression of Flour was...
Read moreGood quality food, but unreasonable prices and poor service made this a meal to forget.
Reply to business: I appreciate the response, but having two staff members off doesn’t quite explain our experience — especially as we visited at lunchtime when there was only one other couple (and their dog) in the restaurant. Despite having plenty of empty tables we were asked to sit directly next to them, which felt unnecessary and awkward
When placing our order, we were abruptly informed that several menu items were unavailable, without much courtesy. During the meal, we were interrupted three separate times to be asked how the food was, and our plates were nearly cleared while my partner was still chewing.
While I understand that one-star reviews can be damaging for independent businesses, paying £18.50 for a pizza with that level of service left me feeling that my time and money weren’t well spent. I’ll have to decline the offer of a free pizza, but thank you...
