PLEASE READ!! Saturday night, August Bank Holiday weekend. Three of us were going to order the Seafood Platter but two changed their minds just before the waitress asked for our order....thank god they did! My Seafood Platter order was changed twice within 5 minutes and I truly regret ordering it now. Please please please.....if you are a seafood lover then choose a seafood restaurant! This is now my third day of stomach cramps and constant diarrhea and I have not been able to eat anything since (sorry but this has to be said) I am now off work ill and for probably the rest of this week with what the walk in centre could only describe as food poisoning! I really didn't want to put a review on because I know the damage this can do to someone's business but this ruined my Bank Holiday weekend getaway and now I'm off work! Just to clarify this was the only main meal that I had before being really ill so it could not have been from anything else. A few of us has prawn cocktail starters and two of us had rice pudding at the end, the only meal I ate that nobody else did was the...
Read moreMe and my wife went for a meal before a show at pair. I looked online to try and find somewhere to go for lunch lots of places to eat in Cromer. Anyway we decided to go for the Garden Street Grill, Soon as we went through the door we was approached by a member of staff who showed us to a table she was very friendly and took our drinks order. We both went for the pie of the day beef and ale this was delicious and a nice selection of veg. We had a sweet as well (large selection). I would imagine in the summer the place would be very busy and maybe best to book if they take bookings. Please note this place is a restaurant not a cafe, prices are compatible with cafes and a little cheaper than other restaurant we looked at in Cromer. The Garden Street Grill is very smart inside and out. I will visit again next time I am in Cromer. Once again thanks for a lovely meal and thanks to...
Read moreFound this little gem in Cromer almost by accident and popped in for dinner. The restaurant is cozy but quite light and airy; it was busy, which is always a good sign on a Monday evening. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. All that said, it is the food which is the star here - much of it homemade and cooked by someone with a talent for flavours. As main dishes we enjoyed a fresh Cromer Crab salad - very fresh with a well dressed local crab, crisp salad and new potatoes - delicious. And a superb homemade beef ragu which was rich, herby and beautifully balanced for flavour showing off the quality of the beef as well as the sauce. Desserts were creamed rice pudding and a delightful apple and cinnamon bread and butter pudding. Prices were reasonable with a good range of well priced wines and beers. An excellent supper, would highly recommend and look forward to...
