What a great place on the outskirts of Ashby, we have been a few times now and I must say the carvery on a Sunday is very good. We called in between Christmas and the new year for a quick grab meal, as I had to be back at work shortly after. We had a choice from the menu and again came out in a good time and with cold fresh beers, it wasn't crazy busy but there was a few in. The food was very well cooked and piping hot with a decent size portion. Sat next to us was a family with playful kids that sadly the parents let run a little wild, but they were finishing up before heading off. All in all a very pleasant experience of which we will be returning. If you like this review then please leave me a like. Many thanks Marcus šŸ‘

The service was great. We had two servers serving us as it wasn't busy. Both were lovely. I had the light lunch Giant Yorkshire pudding with chicken. Everything was cooked to perfection. Even the parsnips were lovely. I'm not usually a fan of parsnips but we've just been to Download festival. It was nice to have a good meal. Onto the desert. I thoroughly recommend the Sticky toffee pudding. Absolutely to die for. It was presented really well and tasted even better. It came out piping hot but the pudding was incredibly soft and moreish. I had to have the custard separately so I didn't ruin it. 10/10. I live in Barnsley but I'll definitely come back here.

Me and my sister went to The Beeches for dinner to try out their pizza Thursday that has just launched and it’s safe to say we will be returning!! The pizzas were to die for. I had the cheeseburger pizza and my sister had the chicken special and they both exceeded expectations. Hats off to the chef!!! The service was absolutely outstanding; from the moment we walked in, we were greeted by big smiles from our waitress Laura, Sarah and Charlotte behind the bar. All of the staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. I highly recommend The Beeches!!

We had a meal there at around 4:30-5 on a Tuesday, Not overly busy but all the same a warm and friendly feeling to the pub, Untill (yep there is a downside) the staff interacted with us (i cant say spoke to us). There was 7-8 staff on varying from bar to service and kitchen. The only one to was a friendly face was the guy making the pizzas by hand good pizzas btw! And an elderly lady behind the bar whi was pleasant enough. The duty manager or manageress was very uninviting but nun the less did do an ok job, But the worst offenders by far was 3 young women (18-25) serving tables drink and taking orders who were so rude while taking orders i felt i was such an incovinece! We were only a medium table of 6 but i genuinly felt like i shouldnt have ask to place an order (yes we had to ask to place an order, despite the fact she was just stood at the bar folding flipping napkins looking at us waiting!) On arriving at the table she just said "what are you ordering". Nothing else not friendly at all. Once the food came we were missing a pizza for my daughter and never given any instruction or ticket for the carvery, (and i had to ask how i redeemed the carvery) also we where missing a plate of chips missing for my daughter. I felt so out of turn to ask where they were i said nothing. Which on reflection is horrific i had paid for the meal i should have asked. The waitress came to the table with food asked "whos is this" on pointing out who was having it she just plonked (best descrition) the food in the middle of all of us to arrange our selfs. Once all the food was there i had the cheek (can you imagine!!!!) To ask for another round of drinks. Well you can imagine the contempt that was met with. Also on a slight note there was an elderly pensioner sitting next to us who ordered his food on arriving and sat down, A good 15mins later he got up and went to the bar to ask where his soup was, He was told to sit down and they would find out. 5mins later not return so he went up again to be told to site down again. Once again the gentleman went to the bar and asked very politely for the 3rd time! Where his soup was. To be told "You never ordered it!" The gentleman clearly confused said "oh ok, Can i have my carvery then please" And another young women just looked horrified at this question and said "wheres the token". The poor guy had no idea what she rudely ment, Eventualy she gave him a token and point at the carvery desk.

I cant say enough how nice the food was (especially the pizza!) But the waitress staff and dm or manageress were so rude i would never visit again, and i would emplor you to consider if you want to pay to be scolded and frowned at like us and that poor pensioner.

We will not...

Have always loved the beeches until recently...

Past few times food has been over cooked or not what we asked for, some of the staff seem to not know what they are doing or spend time all their chatting to customers they are clearly friends with.

We had our wedding in the function room. We had to go the night before to put all our decorations etc in there, only to see that the room was still an unfinished mess on their part (unfinished table cloths/chair covers/ bows, filthy floor ). We had to spend so much time doing their job. Also Christmas decorations/ trees (some couldn't be removed apparently) in there when we had this halloween wedding booked for over a year... we were extremely unhappy.

On the wedding day, we arrived and leaflet when we booked said unlimited tea, coffee and biscuits but we never received any biscuits. Also when we booked we were told music until 10, last orders at 10.30 and to be out by 11, but as soon as we stopped music at 10 we were pretty much being forced out, they started taking table covers/chair covers off while people were still seated... we paid extra for bar which they charged people more than in the normal bar... we were also promised a few burgers thrown in with the buffet as my partner struggles to eat most things but we never received them so he had nothing to eat!! I was fuming.

We stayed in b&b for one night and it was awful, a lot of cobwebs, room was freezing (it was warmer outside). The continental breakfast pastries were stale and hard.

We are never going to the beeches again which makes me sad as we had so many...

We booked a table for 10 of us 6.30 6 adults 4 children. We got there on time and we’re promptly served drinks by a nice lad who was only on his second day. We could see it was busy, as expected just before Christmas. After 40-45 minutes, so we enquired with one of the waitresses as to how long this would be, the main concern being the food for the children who were starting to get grouchy. We were told that we would likely be waiting a further 15-20 minutes as they were incredibly busy. I suggested that it needed to be quicker as we had already been waiting and we’re were asked if we wanted anymore drinks. Following this, a ā€˜manager’ then turned up at our table, very defensive and exclaimed that he had been told we wanted to speak to him. At no point had we asked to speak to him, although the waitress may have thought the manager would be able to explain the situation better. I have never met anyone within the hospitality sector more under qualified in knowing how to speak to customers. He was rude, defensive and at no point did he offer an apology for the wait. Our primary concern was our children being fed in a timely manner. There was a complete lack of leadership within the pub, so much so that a further member of staff had been drafted in from another pub to help out, and it must be said that she dealt with the issue well. The adult meals were not bought out until nearly 2 HOURS after we arrived. The food wasn’t bad, the management...
