I would like to start this by saying that the manager did apologise to us but it didn’t really fix the issue. We were booked in here for food for four people at 7pm and then drinks from 9pm until close. The woman on the phone when I booked confirmed this back to me THREE times. I also had to pay a £20 deposit which I got back but you would think that would mean you’re going to have a better experience than we did. When we arrived, after ordering our drinks we were told the manager who seemed to be in charge of seating everyone had sat us at the wrong table. There wasn’t any apology for this, we had to just move to the correct table. We had our food and it was lovely but the service wasn’t great, the girl taking our order was a bit abrupt and no one came over during the meal to ask how it was or even ask if we wanted to see the dessert menu. We also had to wait for about 15 minutes with no drinks or anyone even asking us for a drinks order for the manager to come over and seat us outside. When we got out the back to have drinks, it looked nice but it was pretty empty. The manager seated us at a big long table and said he would “find” us a seat but we could sit there for now. Someone took our drinks order and the manager came over and sat us at what was essentially a ledge which meant that the four of us wouldn’t actually be able to chat because we’d be leaning round and getting in people’s way. So we moved to a different table which also had four seats and was empty and the manager told us we couldn’t sit there. I asked why and he said that it was booked for a bigger party even though, as I said, there was only four seats. Then when I said that to me that place he seated us seemed like somewhere you would sit a smaller party or people who hadn’t booked but not someone who had booked a week in advance and paid a £20 deposit. He then said that you book an “area” not a specific table which is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my life. Any time I have ever booked a table somewhere either for food or drinks, the place then reserves a specific table for you and your party to sit when you arrive. It was clear that the guy had absolutely no idea what he was doing and they were extremely understaffed. They can’t use the excuse that they’re still getting used to the social distancing and everything because they’ve been opened back up for months and other bars and restaurants in Derry that have only been open a few weeks have a better system than they do. I am absolutely disgusted by the level of service at this place and the complete lack of management or just common sense and myself and my friends will...
Read moreFood fine, staff let it down. Ordered cheesy garlic bread, came with no garlic. When asked waitress said it was her fault because she wrote down cheese bread by accident, then instead of offering to replace she just says "is that's alright" then because I hesitated she said she would get me some garlic butter. Came back to out table and threw down 2 plain mayonnaise dips without even asking I'd this would be ok after offering garlic butter. Called her back and told her i didnt want the cheese bread as it's not what i ordered to which she replied no problem then took it away. Didnt bring out forks and knives after starters and before mains so sat staring at out food while one person went out for mains and sides for one person at a time. Food was ok, no one asked us if everything was ok or if we needed anything during the main course. Then when we were done the same waitress lifted the plates from our table, didnt ask how food was, did not offer dessert. She just threw down a plate with a paper receipt for the bill on it and walked away. A different waiter then came to table to take payment. They also tried to charge for an extra side and didnt take off the £10 deposit by friend paid until after she asked about it. Rang a manager about this service last week and still waiting to hear back so management obviously have no interest in customers either, just their money. Would...
Read moreThe food was so tasty! The staff were all so lovely, especially Jude the barman who had everyone laughing. The way the bottomless brunch works is, it is £30pp and you get one meal choice (I've uploaded a menu to see). Then you have unlimited prosecco glasses for up to 2 hours. You are then moved to a reserved table in the outside/inside dinning area.
The downside I'd say is, you have no desert option unless you pay extra, which isn't bad if you are drinking enough. Otherwise, £30 is a bit much. The other major downside is, although you apparently have a table reserved, you don't have it for long (which you are not warned about). We still hadn't finished our extra drinks we'd bought and we were told we have to move. We left after this.
Although the food was very nice, I'd not be in a rush back.
I probably should mention the fact we'd paid a £50 deposit that wasn't taken from our bill. We had to dispute it and show proof of this. So if you are going, bring proof of your deposit and...
