Dungloe Bar — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

Our first night in Derry and we decided to stroll down to this pub for a Sunday night meal. We walked through the front door at 5:45pm and were immediately heckled by two customers drinking outside the front door.

Once inside we stood like a bunch of stooges being ignored by all the staff that walked past us! I had to speak up and ask a staff member if we could be seated for a meal. The response was one of the rudest I have ever experienced from any country in the world! The rude idiot would not even look at us, 100% dismissive, but instead she just blurted out in the most vile snide voice “no! Too late!” And continued on her merry way. There was zero eye contact! Clearly this vile creature should not be in hospitality! Does the management condone this behaviour? The other staff and useless bouncer just stood around snickering!

I have never experienced such bad hospitality that staff member (tall blonde lady) should be sacked.

My wife and I (mid 40s couple) visiting from USA. were Denied access on Sunday August 6th to this pub by a sad little bouncer who seem to be on a power trip and wanted to act the big man in front of younger staff members. We informed him that we were due to meet family members here after attending the funeral of our grandfather. He refused us entry and accused us of stumbling in the street. I informed him that he was mistaken and our evening was just starting. I asked him repeatedly for his name but he refused to identify himself. Dinner was gorgeous and I couldn’t believe the price, I got a surf and turf with garlic potato’s and peppered sauce for £17.95 and my partner got rump steak, ribs, Mexican fries and peppered sauce which was also £17.95! We’re from Belfast so I’m not sure if this is normal price in Derry/Londonderry but compared to Belfast it was definitely very good value and the food was delicious.
