We decided we wanted a nice quiet coffee and piece of cake Waited in the queue for 10 minutes There was only one lady serving and making coffee while the other 4 were standing around In the back room chatting and laughing We ordered two cappuccino's and a biscoffee cheesecake The cappuccino was awful, absolutely no foam and a real disappointment after waiting so long for it (attached photos) When we brought it back to the table it had all spewed over onto the saucer, you're meant to get a 3rd of foam and I think there's meant to be more in a late than what we got in our "cappuccino's" The cake was definitely not fresh however was the best part of our experience I went up and had to wait over 5 more minutes to complain about the coffee This time a different lady served us, she wasn't apologetic and just wanted to give us 1 replacement coffee Once there was only one staff member serving and the others were in the back They were gossiping and chatting away with no care in the world The cutlery had stains and had to dig for a clean one

Tables were dirty and needed cleaning down. we had to sit outside as there was few spaces with clean tables inside

Wouldn't return £3.30 for a coffee made with no care or attention to detail, it's not like it was a busy...

Been here before, was really nice but was on a busier day. This time however I’m fully put off of going here again. The queue was quite long, only one worker FOH, so was a bit of a wait. I ordered an ice latte and a pain a chocolate which i bought because of the package deal on the chalkboard by the till (which I referred to when I ordered) however got overcharged. I also noticed the worker was struggling with connecting the portafilter to the machine which was difficult to watch as a barista. Felt like a big lack of experience, and to overcharge felt like a mockery. She put the iced coffee in a hot drinks takeaway cup, which didn’t come with a lid. So when I asked if I can have a lid, she then put it in the iced drinks cup, and didn’t even bother topping up the drink so I paid £4.60 for a just-over half full coffee. Don’t think I’m going to go here again, was such a disappointment after a positive experience my...

Unfortunately we came today after coming here for years...however since the business was taken over its such an unwelcoming place now 😓 came in with my mum and the place was so quiet, flies absolutely everywhere...but they were fruit flies, and I've worked in catering before and fruit flies are due to unclean environments aswell as old food. The person that served our food was so rude, walking around like they didn't want to be there and was so abrupt. The poor girl at the till was doing drinks all by herself yet there was about 4 of them in the kitchen, one of the girls was so underdressed she may aswell just have been wearing a bra. Im so disheartened that we won't be coming here again. Im sorry Marmalades...but you've really stepped down on your customer service...

Date of Visit: 22/07/2024 - The service from the young blonde girl was ***EXCELLENT*** and she was very accommodating in my request of warming up my chocolate cake and adding squirty cream. The fact that she checked the date on the cream too shows that she’s very conscientious, so thank you for that. I thought my coffee was of an above average standard and my chocolate cake, although a little sickly; was delicious - The £6 Coffee and Cake deal is very reasonable indeed. My only minor criticism(s) is that my wife didn’t enjoy her cheesecake as she said it lacked taste and the coffee was ‘just okay’ for her (personal preference) Thank you for your service + we will definitely return if in the area, however my wife will obviously choose something different :)

I enjoyed a slice of cheesecake and a cappuccino with an old friend today. The café was bustling with hungry customers, and the friendly, accommodating staff added to the welcoming atmosphere. Although finding a free parking space is unlikely—unless you have a blue badge—due to its city centre location, I opted to park in the nearby Castle Quarter car park, which cost me £3.50 for just under an hour. Overall, this is a very pleasant and popular eatery situated in the beautiful Victorian Royal Arcade shopping mall.
