Visited Thursday evening (24/08/2017), food quality was very poor, and food hygiene is very poor. There were fine grained mud in the food served. You can feel this grinding b/w our teeth when we eat.. Initially we thought it was some coriander that might not have been properly washed and took them off the food, but later on realised it was in everything we ate.. The ladies serving didn’t know much, the chef fellow from upstairs and another gentleman downstairs seems to recognise the problem and accepted that the coriander was not washed.. If they don’t wash the veg they cook, you can imagine what you are eating.. I am an Indian from India, living in London and cook Indian food at home and have visited many authentic Indian restaurants all over the UK and have to admit this kind of serving, muddy food is the first I have ever seen. Even Bangladeshi or Pakistani restaurants server better food than this. The Paratha they offer is not even made in the restaurant, as its store bought and I clearly recognise it as I bring them from the store and make them at home in emergency (not normally) and they serve them for a hefty price.. For the price they charge, they should be making fresh paratha in the restaurant and serve hygienic, properly washed food. So in short, if you can avoid this place, please do so, as you are not missing anything. Go elsewhere to eat quality and healthy...
Read moreA vegan friend recommended Namaste India so when we were in Norwich for the day we thought we'd give it a try for lunch. There was lots of wonderful sounding dishes and eventually we opted for onion bhajis, Saag aloo gravy, Kaju curry, pav bhajis, vegetable biryani and a plain rice. The waiter did attempt to boost our order with some recommendations of his own but happy with our choice we declined. After about 20 minutes our order was delivered to the table. The sights and smell of the food was mouth watering and we dug in hungrily taking samples of each dish. Everything was wonderful and tasted beautiful with the perfect balance between spice, chilli warmth and flavour. Once every dish and plate were empty we asked for the bill, £54 for drinks and food. We felt this was very reasonable at £13.50 per person for a lovely vegetarian Indian meal. Once the bill was paid the male and female hosts chatted to us warmly before we left which added to our...
