Lovely atmosphere and great company. This pub gets busy often and theres a reason for that. Lots and lots of choices for drink and at a good price too!. They have a massive blackboard with lists of drinks on with the percentages and prices. This list gets changed once in a while. They also have various gins, and other liquers behind the bar.
The bar itself is very interesting. There is lots to look at on the walls and even the ceiling. There Is comfy seating around the bar and stools along the counter bar too. The place is always clean and tidy.
The customers are just as friendly as the staff if not more friendly. You always meet someone willing to chat and have a laugh.
Although the pub does not serve food they do have snacks and homemade sandwiches which taste lovely. They do also have events some nights which have included curry.
The toilets are clean and looked after.
There are some benches outside the pub for summer days.
Although there isn't really a car park for the pub there can sometimes be a free gap along the street to park in.
I recommend this pub 100 %. They do amazing drinks at good prices, great atmosphere and you can even find high percent drinks here to like 10 and 12 percent!

Read moreMind blowingly GOOD PUB in a fairly run down (low rent) part of Norwich - You won't find a better Pub than this one anywhere in the U.K - I've been going inside Pubs since the 1970's & upon entering this Pub it literally blew me away as to just how wonderful the vast beer selection was - mindblowing - never seen so many ales on tap - Not remotely surprised that the Beer nerds at 'CAMRA' (Campaign for Real Ale) gives this Pub such high acolades - Just a crying shame it's about 45+ miles away from me & in such an awkward (& ugly) part of Norwich - We chanced upon it by pure luck - Please DO give it a try (& regularly) because SO MANY PUBS are closing in the U.K - this one deserves maximum support & truly is a shining diamond in an otherwise dying industry.... (Wetherspoons excepted) - P.S, I have zero affiliation with this Pub - Just a rare visiting or 'passing thru' customer here who reasoned that this Pub...
Read moreThe Fat Cat is a staple of visitors who come here to see Norwich Castle, the Norfolk Broads and the cobbled streets of the Old sector. The pub itself is not the biggest in capacity, but does boast the widest, ( in my own opinion) range of Ales and Ciders you will need. Very chic and a lot of the younger people have happily caught on to this. Staff as usual will always indulge you if you don't know what you want. If you give a preference, they will have an answer, but i know they are not staffed by raging booze heads! 🤣. I do recommend throughly a visit to this establishment. They have Harry's Soul Station serving Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Wednesday to Sunday, this needs to be part of the Norwich Experience!! Trust me! I would love to give a criticism about this pub, and maybe the Yarmouth Road branch doest have the atmosphere of the original, but well...
