It was disappointing to be told off by a member of staff that I shouldn’t use my laptop here because (they say that) by keeping a table for too long I’m causing them to lose money!! As a loyal customer, I come here and buy here almost everyday and I only stay in the mornings. What’s more, whenever a friend or client visited me in Oxford, I always invited them here because I liked the coffees and the atmosphere. Therefore, asking an everyday customer to leave just because they are using my laptop in a Cafe “located in a university library” is quite unreasonable. It was also shocking to hear the member of staff saying that they want me to leave because they want to earn more money. That’s totally off-putting, offensive and disappointing. And I really doubt this is a good business mindset… A cafe should always welcome people who like working in a cafe. It’s the first time I’ve met such policy. The matcha with soy milk is absolutely delicious – smooth, perfectly balanced, and comforting. I’ve also tried their spiced pumpkin and lentil soup, which was full of flavour and so satisfying. On top of that, the plum pie was a lovely surprise – sweet, soft, and beautifully made.
Brian, a member of the team, served me during my last visit and was kind and attentive, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re after good coffee, honest food, and a relaxed place to...
Read moreExcellent location, good quality, I could give it a five-star, one thing stupid made me no choice but removed 3 stars, that's the mandatory request of no-computer in use, really annoying and stupid. If during busy hours or seasons, it's totally understandable that people are asked not to use computers. But when there were almost no people around and you were enjoying your time being a Sunday academic, then someone came to ask you to remove your computer, that was so annoying! So if you want to work on your computer with a warm coffee on a lovely or rainy Sunday morning, it's better to go for another one! Suggestions to the team, please learn to be flexible, don't be so...
