This wasn’t just any old burger shop, the vibes were beyond immaculate. From the moment we came in, the nice man with glasses taking our order took the greatest care in making sure we had a good meat and sauce combination - I went for lamb with a mint&yogurt sauce, Thai sweet chilli, salad and XL gherkins. The XL gherkin request exceeded expectations. My friends burgers also SLAPPED (in the best way). After our yum burger and chips, the maybe owner brought us chocolate, this may have been special treatment but wow did it complete this Friday night experience :)

Great burgers, at a good price and with great service, near Oxford center. If you wander around the exclusive Oxford's Jericho district, you can't miss this burgers" place. Don't let the humble place with its eclectic walls misguide you: they make great burgers and chips, and the service is great. Many sauces to twist your dish, and drinks available (no beer, but fresh ones very close in a co-op at the same street). Then you can enjoy in, outside or take away and eat by the river. Tell them you come from me, and they'll be happy! đŸ˜ŠđŸ‘đŸ»

I was visiting Oxford for the first time and decided to eat here at random. It was not busy when we arrived but while we ate our meal it seemed to hit Peppers rush hour and the staff team were working together like a well oiled machine to keep the customers happy. I loved my chicken burger with excellent choice of sauces and would absolutely return to try the lamb & mint and beef burgers. Seems like a local gem of a place.

As a veggie, Peppers serves up the sort of burger I have been craving since giving up meat all of those years ago. Such a reasonable price for something that was so satisfyingly delicious. None of that toasted brioche bun, 'dirty' (bland topping), 'smash' hype nonsense. The veggie burger patties seemed homemade and were nothing but satiating. Unlike other meat substitutes, they did not make you feel like you need a detox after consuming. Chips were bloody lovely as well.

The choice of customisation options is a dream. I went for white shark sauce and aoili, with all of the usual suspects (lettuce, gherkin, tomato, onion and more...). A pleasant surprise is that you are not forced to take out a mortgage to add most toppings and sauces, this sadly feels like a throwback in comparison to other restaurants in the area (and beyond).

The inside of the joint has so much character. The decor is complemented by a calming, vibrant atmosphere, which made waiting for the burger a really pleasant experience. The people behind the magic were incredibly attentive, friendly and a pleasure to interact with. Peppers is not the sort of place where your order is placed on a system and lost to the ether, to be processed by faceless drones.

No doubt we will return disturbingly frequently to navigate through all of the combinations...

Tempted by the reviews, I decided to try out this burger joint and went there with my family to taste what is supposedly the best burger in Oxford... Well, if this was the best, I’d hate to try the worst. The coleslaw was mediocre, the meat was decent, but the cheese didn’t really go well with the overall flavor combination. Overall, the food was pretty underwhelming.

On top of that, the door wouldn’t stay closed – every customer had to manually shut it, and it was really stiff, making the place uncomfortably cold (I visited when it was 4°C outside). Nothing about this place stood out to me, least of all the food, so I definitely won’t...
