The food—what of it we could it was fine, good even. My partner liked his food. Mine, however, I told the cashier that I was allergic to tomatoes as the fried chicken sandwich was advertised as having lettuce, pickles, and burger sauce. The cashier told me he’d hold the burger sauce. My partner also ordered a chocolate shake and a fried chicken sandwich with no pickles. The milkshake came first, it was a kinder bueno shake not a chocolate shake. Then our food came, and I was served a fried chicken sandwich with no burger sauce BUT TOMATO SLICES. I then couldn’t actually eat my food and kind of just had to pick around. My partner got my burger. We ordered Cajun fries—the cashier said yes we could do Cajun fries with our meals—and both of our fries came totally plain. My partner ordered his sandwich without pickles because he hates them, and he opened his sandwich to discover a bunch of pickle slices. We’re not planning on ever eating here again. The food tasted fine, the atmosphere was fine, the cashier was fine, but being served food I’m allergic to after explicitly stating I’m allergic to it is a line for me; not receiving what we actually ordered when we paid £26 for lunch really sealed the...
Read moreUpdate: Recently went on a Saturday and the customer service was shocking from the person at the till. Didn’t apologise when the order was wrong, threw the water jug at me when it was refilled after I asked for some water. I then had to call her back to get cups to put the water in. I was only asking for the basics and the attitude was awful. Anything I asked for was such a bother. Pancakes came without maple syrup and then I had to wait a good 5 minutes before they got me some. I had to really think about writing this review before I posted it I’m conflicted because I wouldn’t want to encourage anyone not to go to this small family business - I’d prefer to support them because they’ve previously been great. Everyone has their bad days and not all the staff were rude. That being said, I just won’t be spending my money in a place where people are rude to me. I may be back, I just won’t be for a while, won’t reccomend it and if I do go I’ll check who’s working before I go in.

While I understand that times are challenging financially for many, I believe it's worth investing in good-quality food for my family rather than opting for fast-food options on the high street. So, I decided to give Rick's Dinner a try, and I’m glad I did—this was my second visit, and they did not disappoint.
The chicken burger was perfectly tender with a satisfying crunch, and the flavor was incredible—reminding me of vibrant Caribbean spices. It was served with spicy fries that complemented the meal beautifully. We also finished off with a delicious American pancake, which was the perfect treat.
The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, providing excellent customer service throughout our visit. I highly recommend trying their coffee as well—it’s fantastic.
I’ll definitely be returning and look forward to more enjoyable meals here. Thank you for your hospitality and for maintaining such a high standard. Keep up the great work!
