I had an absolutely terrible experience here today. The owner was incredibly rude to me. I asked to move tables after I had just sat down as it was cold next to the door. He was wiping down the table next to it. He said”no! aggressively to me. He told me to sit next to my partner and to stay on the table we were on. We had only just come in. I moved anyway once he had wiped the table. He then told me he would be putting the people outside who were waiting to come in on the same small table with myself and my wife. I said we wanted to have a romantic lunch, he said”we don’t do romantic here!, again with a very aggressive tone to the comment.
I forgot to mention he had already been rude to me as we were told to wait outside in the cold for 10 minutes. I had just stepped inside, and he said wait outside! shouting this at me.
I would describe this man as a homophonic bully. We decided to leave when my wife returned from the Loo and once she heard what he had said to me and how he had insulted me. On my wife telling him we were leaving he said GOOD!!
My advice to anyone considering going to this place is to avoid it!! The atmosphere is so awful and this man should be reported for verbally...
Read moreGreat place, best to go when its quiet, amazing food! Best noodles in Oxford, would go so far as saying its the best spot for a quick bite to eat in the whole of Oxford, certainly my favourite place. Be prepared for an alternative ordering style than you are used to (at least in the most of UK). Check off the items you want on the order sheet provided on entry and then hand in to either the owner/chef or one of the brilliant staff that work there as well and they bring your food to the table! The Aromatic Beef Noodles and Sichuan Pork Noodles are a must try. Been going since they opened and when I could I tried to go at least twice a week. Also been in many a time watching the chef hand-make the dumplings, which are also best I could find in Oxford. I, finally, would recommend that you try any specials when they are on, the chef/owner is super talented and opened the restaurant with just himself working there and has since expanded and altered the restaurant to meet the growing demand for these delicious noodles in Central Oxford, with a street-food style interior decor, it can feel a little cramped, but its full of life...
Read moreI visited this restaurant with my friend, expecting a nice end to our happy day. Unfortunately, the experience was completely ruined by extremely poor service, hygiene issues, and what felt like clear discrimination against Asian customers, in an Asian restaurant which is so ironic.
We were not even given tap water. We had to find it ourselves, which we didn’t even complain. Other customers who got later were served their orders first, despite ordering the same noodles soup as we did.
There is a serious hygiene concern, my friend discovered hardened food residue stuck at the bottom of the bowl, which was only visible after nearly finishing the meal. It was extremely disgusting. When we politely tried to address the hygiene issue, the staff brushed it off, showed zero concern and instead repeatedly pressured us to pay and leave, cutting me off whenever I tried to explain that the residue was stuck at the bottom and only visible towards the end.
We left feeling shocked, insulted, and completely unwelcome. This was not only poor service, but also an unacceptable hygiene negligence and...
