Excellent pub near to the waters edge really hidden unless you know it is there. We stayed at an Airbnb (crows nest, also recommended) just a short walk up the hill Place can be busy so suggest booking. Warm armosphere with good selection of ales etc although seems more of a place to eat in the evening than just have a drink. Really good menu and a specials board. Food was excellent. Menu said real chips but unreal chips is a better discription. Meals we had were 1st class and whilst portions are large they are well presented and quality couldn't be faulted The staff are all really warm and friendly with a smile even when busy Food cooked to order and so was slow coming out but well worth the wait. Can recommend and if you are in the area really the place to go for at least one meal.

Visited the clovelly bay inn with friends as we were in Plymouth for a diving weekend and were staying close by, the staff are really friendly, the beer is excellent and the food is superb, there are no menus just a blackboard on the wall but the choices are vast. I had the steak and stilton pie, it came with crispy potatoes and 6 types of veg, the meat in the pie was both tasty and very generous, highly recommended, you definitely won't leave here hungry. It's a shame I live a 4 hour drive away because I would be a regular customer if I lived anywhere near Plymouth. 👍🥳 See you again next year.

Small tucked away pub/restaurant. Don't be misled by the deminutive exterior it has a deceptively large interior. Strongly recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment. Really nice olde worlde village pud atmosphere. All the food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled 1st class. Real homemade cut chips fresh side salads and generous portions. Good selection of on tap ciders beers and ales.

Visited last night and wish we hadn't bothered! It took 45 minutes for us to get our food, then another 20 minutes after we had finished for them to clear the plates. Half the plates were taken away and then the other half were taken 10 minutes later. We were asked if we wanted desserts which we did and she said she would bring us the menu. We waited that long for her return that we ended up going up to the bar ourselves to get the menu. Surprise surprise then they didn't even come to take an order from us for dessert either. After being in there nearly 2.5hrs we managed just one course! In the end gave up and paid and left after stating we weren't happy about how slow and no orders taken...no apology given! It seemed like the women behind the bar were more interested in chatting up the guy's sat at the bar instead of actually...

The food was out of this world. For starter I had the bruschetta which was loaded with fresh tomatoes and onions and herbs, very tasty and then for main i had the tandoori chicken with naan, I honestly think it tasted better than any actual tandoori I've had from a authentic Indian takeaway or restaurant in my life, it was incredible. The chips again were amazing like fish and chip shop chips. For dessert I had the biscoff cheesecake which was delicious.

The portions of all courses were really generous and lots of flavour and really well presented. Hats off to the chef as she did an amazing job 👏

There was a great selection of non or low alcohol drinks too.

Mike our server was excellent from start to finish, he really looked after us well for such a large group of 16.

Can't wait to go...
