Costa Coffee - Marsh Mills Retail Park — Restaurant in Plymouth

Visited this location on 5th November with my friend. Was very very quiet, as expected, with it being bonfire night. There was only four customers in the place, including us two. The staff clearly had nothing to do so decided it was a good idea to bring down the extractor fans and clean them right over where my friend and I was sitting. No warning or anything, I had to quickly get out of my seat and move out of the way. Once they started dusting the fan, there was dust everywhere in the air above us, so we got up and left, cutting our catch up short. We received a couple of "sorrys" from the staff. Come on man, use some common sense and not clean and Incredibly dusty object right beside paying customers. Worse thing is they choose to do the cleaning right beside us, when the place is massive and there were fans on the complete opposite side of the room that they could've gone for, instead of covering myself and my friend in dust. Walked in and 8 tables were dirty, this place isn’t big so we had to take away instead. My cheese toastie was given to someone else but when I did get mine it was thrown in the bag and the bread and everything in the sandwich had fallen apart (therefore had to eat it separately). My 2 drinks took about 20 minutes to be made while everyone else was getting served. I also asked for no coffee in mine and it definitely came with coffee. The girl Behind the counter did not smile once, I understand she’s busy however when you are talking to someone it’s nice to have a welcoming look and polite attitude. I have to admit, I don't drink coffee, so all these types of places are of no interest. My hubby does enjoy coffee and as we had to wait for something we wandered over. His coffee, my tea was okay, but overpriced! Lots of people come here and are willing to overpay to be seen either inside or walking to their vehicles showing off their costa branded cups. I truly don't get it! Mcdonald's is far tastier and far cheaper! Also the toilets at 8.45am were dirty with thick dust by the doors! This is the time of day they should be...
