Mila’s Bakery — Restaurant in Plymouth

I’m so sorry to write this because I acknowledge how busy the bakery is and how popular the business is as a whole. I don’t doubt how hard the staff work. The coffee is so good, I love the baked goods. However that being said, never go here during half term if you don’t want to be surrounded by screaming kids! They also forgot our order. We waited almost 20 minutes in what felt like absolute chaos, the interior is smeared with brown everywhere, which is such a shame. I understand the vision but unfortunately it seems locals treat it as a crèche ruining the atmosphere and visual appeal. They’ve forgotten my order previously too, maybe the staff are overrun with how busy it gets but a little organisation could go a long way. Service is ridiculous!! Went to the branch in town to get some information about a cake for an occasion. The lady didn't even tried to help. Just said I should call or send an email and collection is at Plympton. Tried ringing the number a couple of days and never had a response. Decided to drive to Plympton, walked into the shop, and wasn't even acknowledged. As soon as I mentioned the word "cake," was told the same thing as the other shop. I explained I tried calling and never got a response and turned out to be there shop and she explained they were busy. Was given a different number to call. I just wanted to know if I can have a particular cake personalised to an occasion and she was very rude by saying we don't do cakes for that occasion. Didn't even try to see if she can at help. Although the line/queue was quite long when I arrived the wait time really wasn't too bad.. due to Covid rules only 1 household is allowed in the store at a time but it flows. They encourage you to decide on a flavour via their Facebook page where they announce the baked goods of the day.. thankfully the one I'd hoped to get the Cadburys Crunchie & Caramac Rocky Road was in stock 😁 I also got a pot luck of baked good for a friends bday gathering .. my diet is certainly going out the window today.. but although I've so far only tried a small piece of the rocky road one I bought I can confirm it's incredible!
