Himalayan Monal — Restaurant in Preston

We visited this lovely place on Saturday afternoon(28th december). It has a nice vibe and friendly atmosphere, and there were several people who had already sat down. We sat down and were greeted and offered drinks. Me and the father-in-law and I got a larger called "gurkha," My wife got a mango lassie and her little girl a j2o, also half wat through our food i ordered a peacock mango and lime cider. They were all very nice drinks, the father-in-law and I really enjoyed our larger. We were then offered poppadoms and dips, after which we ordered our food, we ordered some starters, the pani puri, veg momo, mysore dosa. The mains, I went for the chicken piro, the missus went for the jhol momo, father-in-law went for monal talhi set and the our little girl had chicken fried rice with a side order of garlic naan and plain naan. The food was amazing. Everything was so delicious, the flavours and spices were put together very well, we were all very full after, no room for dessert, but we left very satisfied. The service was great. The young gentleman who served us was friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend anyone to try this place out, and I will be doing so with friends and family. Disappointig experience considering this is 4.6 stars according to over 80 people reviews. We ordered from the website. We used the option to order exact time rather than collection in 20 min and for our disappointment they rang 20 min after ordering, to tell us that food was ready, which should have been ready 1h later. Man on phone tried to suggest we had not marked the wished time but it was clearly on the order confirmation email. They told us they will see if they can cook it again. Food was not hot once we got it, so presume we got served the 1 h earlier cooked food. Portions were xs, read extra small side, the Himalayan chilli with chicken was extra small served with tiny amount of sauce. Veg Karai had small amount sauce as well and curry did not taste like karai as well it had corn and beans in it so probably we were served vegetables from supermaket freezer section??? never seen corn and green turkish beans in it before. I had momos a couple of weeks back, but it wasn’t really good and didn’t meet our expectations because we only went there after hearing good reviews from our friends. We did update this in our review, and to our surprise, the team from Himalayan Monal contacted me via Instagram and apologised for the bad experience, and asked us to give them one chance to try some authentic momos. Due to personal reasons, I couldn’t go to the store and taste the momos, and today they delivered them to my home. I must say, that was one of the best momos I had in my life and tasted a ton of times better than what we had before.
