Fantastic local pub based in the city centre. Very difficult to find this kind of pub these days. Everyone is friendly and welcoming from the moment you enter. They have a great range of drinks, from real ale to Guinness to a large selection of draught lagers to ciders.
The top shelf selection here is beyond anything else you find in other places. If you want it this place has it! Prices are as expected for a city centre pub although they have so many offers on you will always find a great deal.
On friday and Saturday nights they have bands on every single week. I have not seen an atmosphere in a pub like this since before the dreaded lockdown and longer.
There is also an outside seating area to the back. Which has lots of outside seating.

Read moreI went here on New Years Eve with my girlfriend. It was quiet so I was more expecting a decent pint from what was a superb real ale pub. Within 3 minutes my pint was flat and looked and tasted awful. Believing this to be a 'proper' pub I took my beer back and asked for another pint. The answer I got from the barmaid who wouldn't know a bad pint from a screwdriver said 'no one else has complained'. As if that is customer service or in any way indicates that the beer is good. How about everyone else who didn't complaint knew as much about beer as she? And,,the bar manager who similarly has no experience of decent real ale.
I will not be going again. A shame. Used to be a proper Preston pub. No wonder Friargate is...
