Was a good pub . I've been going in occasionally since 1989 . Went in one afternoon in Oct 2020. I cannot wear a mask for health reasons. Instantly the barman shouted put a mask on . I shown an exemption card issued by GMPTE. As I shown it I said it's not official as . He interrupted me saying it's not official you're not getting served " very harshly put . I explained it's not official as you cant get an official one . I said it thinking he would understand what a mess the government is making of all this. He then started firing questions at me . Why cant I get one from the doctor? I said doctors do not issue them even if I could get to see my doctor. He asked what my medical conditions were , I told him I've had cancer. He looked at me with disgust I think because I gave him a legitimate answer he didnt like it . He then accused me of having a bad attitude and refused to serve me . I asked if he had seen the quidelines on Gov.uk about exemption. He just repeated " get out I'm not serving you . I was humiliated and discriminated against by a barman younger than my youngest child. I love old traditional pubs and I feel its important to support them and other businesses. Shame the staff there do not value thier long standing customers...
Read moreI visited the Dog and Partridge pub in Preston recently and it was a most enjoyable experience. The Dog and Partridge pub in Preston for many years was run by Ronnie Fitzpatrick who is now retired from the pub. Ronnie Fitzpatrick was a good landlord and was an ex Royal Military Police officer. I would recommend a visit to the Dog and Partridge pub in Preston. It has a good range of drinks both bottled beers and real ales. I would recommend the Timothy Taylor's Landlord ale on draught which is available in the Dog and Partridge pub in Preston. There is a juke box in the pub and there is live bands on in the pub on a regular basis. The pub is on Friargate in Preston. I would recommend a visit to the Dog and Partridge...
