Really disappointing since the new management. Went on a Friday a couple of weeks back when had just changed over. Ordered a drink at the bar, payment was taken, then the barman proceeded to eat a pizza at the bar with some mates. I was later asked if I was being served, to which I said "I think so"... turned out he had forgotten about my order. We ordered 2 pizzas, only one arrived, so we ended up eating separately. Pretty poor but put it down to teething problems. Went today on a Sunday. Asked if they were open (as the side door was locked), to which we got the response "yeah, but I'm not doing food". I asked if the side door is normally shut now, "it's normally open, but I can't be bothered today, I'm going to shut in a couple of hours" We sat down for a drink outside, several groups were in, but it felt pretty flat as there was no music on, which added to the unwelcoming atmosphere. On our way out (about 3 hours later) a group were served pizza! I have spent a lot of time here and used to really enjoy it but I won't be...

Lovely place feels very much like a little community with the courtyard and a number of great bars around who we believed shared the courtyard but yesterday me and my husband found out that is only when it suits lost bar , 😠 me and my husband got moved off a table whilst eating a meal by a very rude man, he came over and told us to leave as it was for lost customers only i could understand if we was at a reserved table but no one was waiting for our table there was no one standing and the guy actually admitted its there choice to move people when it suits them. Wow 😯 and i might add we wasnt the only ones moved but some they let stay some they moved depending wether your face fit i think 🤔 so i wont be going to lost again and I certainly wont be encouraging my friends to go to the community of bars as lost think they are better than the others...

The place looks the part so I guess that deserves a star however the staff member (shaved head) was so rude to us, initially he said "your better off ordering on the app" no "hi, welcome guys" anyway, we arrived in 3 couples, tried to get the app to work but it didn't. I asked my husband to go and find someone and ask them if we can order, anyway he came back rather upset, he'd walked into the back (unintentially...it was our 1st time at the establishment) and the staff member (shaved head...once again) shouted "get out...we have no insurance for you to be here" ....well I'm sorry mr shaved head man, it was a mistake and it wasn't done to upset you!

Anyway we left as we just felt we weren't wanted, shame because looked so beautiful

New staff needed...some with communication skills and a more...

An excellent cosy bar on Market Street West offering a well stocked bar area with craft beers, wines, spirits including signature cocktails, and hot drinks. There's an intimate function room/pizzeria to the left of the bar for those get togethers and celebrations. Through the bar is the solarium, a windowed seating area with ambient lighting looking out to the seated courtyard, great in Summer but equally as good in all weathers as it's partially covered. The pizzeria serves delicious hand crafted pizzas with various and unusual toppings. So if you just fancy a drink after work, a night out and/or a meal this is the place to go... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Excellent quiet independent cafe/bar and shop. The quality of the coffee and food is very good. Coffee properly ground fresh with a barista that knows what they're doing The decor is really good with really good outdoor seating, very contemporary and quietly hidden away off Friargate The boutique shop is very interesting selling boutique crafts and goods Update: As of December 2022 "Once Was Lost" no longer exists replaced by a pizzeria. Shop seems to have gone too. Popped in today (17th) place was dead. I was looking forward to a Mexican wrap too and coffee and cake. But nothing. Sadly won't be going here again

Service was appalling, we had 6 dishes; 2 Garlic bread and 4 Pizzas. 4 of the 6 were burnt to a cinder. The server was only available when running other tables drinks/food, no check backs at any point. Took 20mins to get our drinks and 90 minutes to get pizzas, 2 of which arrived 5 minutes before the final 2. The only positive was the way they resolved the bill. Had high hopes for a new independent business, evening was thoroughly ruined.
