4.8 out of 5! Highly anticipated and a welcome addition to Preston's eating out places. We have been to Manchester Trafford Centre branch and fallen in love with exceptional taste and great hospitality that Wagamama offer. I am pleased to see that the same can be said about Preston branch. I was like a kid in a sweet shop. Giddy with excitement. Greeting and hospitality - 5 out of 5 Great first impression, we went for lunch on the first week of the launch and had been greeted by a lovely waiter who led us to the table and explained how to order. He mentioned the loyalty app which I was keen to download but my phone does not support it so that is one of my 2 criticisms as I feel I am missing out on potential discounts and freebies as I will be one of their regulars. The second criticism was the payment app - it was painfully slow/unresponsive so we had to ask the waiter to just take the payment with a card machine instead. I appreciate that both issues are beyond Preston team control but it would be disingenuous from my side not to mention it. The rest of the staff who waited on us were friendly, attentive and all around super nice. Food - 5 out 5 Mushroom Bao Bun is to die for. Masterfully put together with great umami flavour. Although it's bitesize you can really taste the different ingredients. I had a regular donburi bowl with shitake mushrooms and my husband had the ramen, both exceptionally good and absolutely delicious. Portions are very generous so you need to factor that in when ordering any side dishes as we struggled to finish our side order (Bang Bang cauliflower) which was a tad spicy but not tongue numbing spicy. Healthy drinks with natural freshly pressed fruits tasted fresh and were uplifting. Decor, ambiance and cleanliness-5 out 5 Althout it's a chain restaurant, each is fitted slightly differently. I liked the minimalist look with Japanese looking lamps and fittings. Monochrome photos on the wall and the bamboo looking partitions made it feel oriental. The place was spotless. Definitely recommend and I will come back again!

Called into Wagamama on a Sunday lunchtime to celebrate a senior family members 93rd birthday (though he insisted he was only 39!). We wanted to make sure we got a seat so arrived slightly before midday. Having been to Wagamama in other locations many times before we knew what to expect in terms of menu and food, however the staff went above and beyond making the birthday boy feel special on this day. Having shared the reason why we were attending with the greater, several team members made the point of stopping by to wish him happy birthday and share in the '39 today' joke 😁 The food was delicious as usual, everybody clearing their plates. We choose Wagamama not only for the delicious items on the menu but also the diverse plant based/vegan food options. Can't thank the team enough for making his birthday something special, it's these moments that stay with you, and also make Wagamama a goto place that we don't hesitate to return to too.

Popped in for dinner and I wasn’t disappointed. I ordered the chicken katsu curry with rice and some crispy squid on the side. The katsu was spot on with a lovely golden crispy coating with tender chicken underneath, and that signature curry sauce was as good as ever. The drinks arrived milliseconds after the order was taken, it honestly felt like the bar staff were reading the waiter’s mind, both of them moving on a conveyer belt. The service overall was efficient, with orders scribbled quickly on the tables and food arriving within a reasonable time. The staff were friendly enough, though it’s more about speed than fuss here, which suits me fine. Seating-wise, we were smushed into the tiny two-person corner table, close enough to hold hands with our neighbours if we’d chosen to - ideal. Price-wise, it’s about what you’d expect, not cheap, but fair value for the portion sizes and quality. I would definitely come back!

Wouldn't reccomend unless you like being made to reorder your meal 3 times or like watching staff shout at/threaten each other.

Got sat down very qucikly and ordered some pulled duck ramen, just to get told it wasn't available, then ordered the chicken ramen just to then get told 10 minutes later that wasn't also available. 3rd times the charm I ordered a completely different menu item which was delicious I may add, but by the time i recieved my meal my gathering had almost finished all of their meals.

I heard the same waitress tell the family next to us that some of their food wasn't also available. But at this point I dont get why have a menu if half of it isn't available, I thought this was supposed to be a main establishment? How is half the menu not available so early into this locations opening?

Midway through my meal I saw absolutely disgusting behaviour from behind the counter, as we got sat right next to the open kitchen section and overheard what I assume is the manger or some sort of higher up (looked in professional clothes and not a chefs uniform) threatening to sack someone in front of a dozen customers, obviously put me off my food a bit. Even though it did give us a bit of a laugh.

Overall, Definitely won't be coming back anytime soon, quite disappointed considering for a new location i heard quite good things about this place, as unfortunately the next nearest location is in Bolton.

Only positives are its in a good location and gives a different option of something to eat while in the...

From the moment we arrived my family and I were made to feel extremely welcome by Jojo at the door who was most pleasant and helpful and got us to our table straight away and was also most helpful with the menu choices as I explained that this was our first time at a Wagamama restaurant and her information was most helpful. The waiters & waitresses were all very good, attentive & most friendly. Our drinks and food orders were taken in really good time and the food arrived not too long after we ordered it. The food itself looked & smelled amazing. The portion sizes were hearty and we were blown away with the fresh and vibrant flavours! We all had to try each others dishes as it was like an exploration of flavours and im pleased to say there wasnt a morsel left to spare! It was our son's birthday and the staff also provided him with a complimentary chocolate cake which was really nice of the team to do and a really nice touch. Needless to say we are now converted to Wagamama and after now downloading the app and collecting 2 stamps already its safe to say that we will be back again to collect more very soon. Well done Wagamama...
