Our recent visit to Shed for breakfast and brunch was truly delightful. The establishment, known for its breakfast and lunch specialties, impressed us with both its quality food offerings and its inviting atmosphere. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by an ambiance that beautifully blended rustic charm with modern touches, reminiscent of a cozy rural home. The interior design achieved a perfect balance between the old and the new, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment ideal for a relaxed meal.

The quality of the food was exceptional. We chose sandwiches and toast, and were pleasantly surprised by the meticulous preparation and exquisite flavors of each dish. It is clear that the restaurant takes great care in offering a high-level culinary experience, with carefully selected ingredients and well-crafted flavor combinations. One of the most charming and distinctive features of the restaurant is its table assignment system. Instead of traditional numbers, each table is identified with animal figures. This unique touch adds an element of originality and makes the dining experience more memorable and enjoyable.

The staff at the restaurant stood out for their friendliness and professionalism. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with smiles and a service-oriented attitude that made us feel welcome and well-attended throughout our visit. The attention to detail and the staff’s dedication to ensuring an enjoyable experience were noteworthy. Another aspect that particularly impressed us was the visibility of the kitchen from the counter. Seeing the immaculate kitchen and the emphasis on hygiene gave us great confidence. This important detail highlights the restaurant’s commitment to quality and transparency, adding a significant positive point to our review.

Shed is a gem that deserves a visit, not only for the excellent quality of its food but also for the unique and cozy atmosphere it offers. The combination of rustic-modern design, an innovative table assignment system, friendly staff, and impeccable attention to hygiene makes this place a standout choice for breakfast and brunch. It is an experience we will certainly repeat and...

Update: After living in reading for a year, She'd is still my favorite sandwich place. I now order Cheddar gorge with scrambled eggs and I can't go back from it.

I still and will always recommend Shed for its delicious food and its friendly owners and staff I love how cozy and home-like feels. I ordered the shed club sandwich and chocolate cake. The cake is very decadent and moist in a very yummy way.

The sandwich is fresh sourdough. Crunchy outside, soft inside. A well-cut chicken. At least an inch thick. Crisp iceberg lettuce. Juicy tomato slices. Seasoned like mad with salt and pepper. I decided to add eggs to it, and what a perfect decision that was. It was a awesome sandwich.

A high...

The service was good, they were friendly and helped with adapting my order. They had run out of an ingredient but offered an alternative when you ordered. Prices ranged from about £4 upwards, staying in would add about a 50p charge to the price too. The atmosphere is cosy and rustic. There's a large seating area upstairs and there was a range of people from us on a lunch break, to a business meeting to friends catching up. It's quirky and unique too. The food itself was great, the bread is fresh and delicious, the chicken was amazingly flavoured too. The Brie, bacon and cranberry toasted ciabattas were enjoyed by my colleagues too. There is also water downstairs for you to help yourself to. Would...

After an overnight stay in Reading, I had breakfast at the Shed. I had a Hangover Wrap, and a Black Coffee, my wife had Fried Eggs on Sourdough toast (not on the menu). All the food was excellent. My wrap was rich and had a delicious spicy kick! I followed with a Flat White which was also excellent. Great location down a side street (not pretty!), and the building is an old brick warehouse or similar. The seating area is on the first floor and open to the rafters. Great characterful space. I shall definitely return if I get the chance!

Interesting little coffee and cake shop off Friar Street though its not obvious to find. I had coffee and cake. Both were very nice. You can eat inside (there are floors to an upper floor) or there a limited number of tables outside on the road. Opening hours were confusing. Sign outside said 10am opening but I was there at about 0930 and they were open.
