Myself and my boyfriend came here on a Wednesday night for the student brunch and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough. We were served as soon as our glasses were empty- the staff(specifically Tom) was very attentive and the food was delicious. I had the fajita pasta and my boyfriend had the double cheese bacon burger it was very filling which is lovely as normally for a bottomless brunch food is not the priority. I would definitely recommend this place for brunch as the whole staff was attentive- I diddn’t get the names of the other staff members that quickly cleared our tables of empty glassware and plates but they did to swiftly and discreetly which allowed myself myself and my boyfriend to engage in a lovely date night. The music was apt for the environment, up beat and classy, especially as it’s a Wednesday it’s still a very nice amount of busy and not completely empty. Will definitely be returning with my other half as well as with friends, and be recommending to others. I really can’t wait to come back. Thanks so much to S&L on Friar street for giving us the best night!

Came for bottomless brunch on a Saturday night, atmosphere was great, service was awful, only got 1 drink eventhough our order was taken 4 times, was then told ‘you’ve had more than 1 drink’ by a barmaid to which I replied ‘yes because I bought some’ in which I brought 2 mojitos, when we was then paying separately because there was 10+ of us, I was told I ‘had to pay or someone else does’ when complaining I only had 1 drink for a bottomless brunch, she then proceed to say we had ‘Drinks waiting for us’ eventhough our brunch time was up, we also didn’t receive these drinks, i wasn’t feeling particularly hungry and asked to take the food home which anywhere else wouldn’t have been a problem, I was then told I wouldn’t be able to take my food away ‘incase I got sick’ - I work in hospitality and was more than happy to sign a waiver or anything as I completely understand the situation but was handed thin napkins to take this home AGAIN which anywhere else wouldn’t be an issue, super disappointed and have a lot more to write but just wanted a heads up to anyone thinking of booking - DO NOT SUPER DISSAPOINTED WITH OVERALL SERVICE WILL NOT BE BACK

Our first visit to Slug & Lettuce was a incredibly disappointing experience. The manager denied the existence of a student discount, despite a flashing advertisement in the restaurant and online. When my boyfriend enquired (with the MiXR app ready), he was shut down immediately. Whether it was profiling or just a bad mood, it felt like the manager had been caught in a lie, and his attitude was completely unnecessary. Later, when I went to the bar to ask for salt and ketchup, I was repeatedly ignored. It took seemingly a staff member who was clearly on break, eating with her family to help me and get another worker’s attention. On top of that, we noticed other customers visibly frustrated with the long wait times, which only added to the feeling that service here was lacking. I’ve worked in hospitality, so I really do understand the pressures of the job, but the lack of professionalism and courtesy here was disappointing. This experience has really put us off returning.

Really cute place to have drinks/food with friends or date. We went out on Saturday night, we had booked previously (thank god). It was quite busy and they had reservations right after ours was finished and we were asked to leave the table. Quite popular place. The drinks were nice and 2 for 1 when we went (7 to 9pm). The food was good for the price paid. Toilets very clean and pretty. The only complaint is the time it took us to get our order. You have to order through a qr code and they bring it to your table. It took quite a while to get everything so if you are indecisive, I would recommend you check the menu before coming so you can order straight away and make the most our of your time. I would recommend and we will probably be coming back!

10 of us went to a 90s/00s bottomless brunch last weekend for a friend’s birthday. The staff were all over the place, clearly unprepared. Not much of a bottomless brunch as 1 hour into it I had only 1 drink. They managed to rush out 3 rounds after that, but the drinks had no ice in so weren’t cold and they were only giving us half glasses (see photo attached). Food was ok. Over all, only had 4 drinks… so the “bottomless brunch” was pointless. On top of that, they were playing current music, so not what was advertised. There was no bottles of Prosecco or anything on the table, which every other bottomless brunch I’ve ever been to had. Very disappointing and the rest of the group felt the same. I look forward to a response from the manager.
