I visited The Three Tuns while staying in the area. I thought it was a Greene King pub, but was misled by the misleading sign outside saying that it was a Greene King pub. So you can imagine my shock and embarrassment when I tried to get 20% off of my pint of Greene King IPA, using my AA app, and being told that it’s not a Greene King pub. Even though they sold Greene King beers. And the sign said Greene King outside. I was informed that they had not had a chance to take down the sign. So this led to the somewhat confusion on my behalf. I sat outside pondering my predicament, but still returned to the bar for one more pint. Without trying to claim my 20% discount. But all in all, a pleasant pub, despite the confusion induced by trying to use my AA app. For...
Read moreBeen here several times in the last year and it WAS excellent but a new chef is serving the same menu in a completely different and totally disappointing way. Sunday lunch WAS value for money but now feels overpriced and generally poor. Four of us for a roast and soft drinks had a bill of £56 Food presented as meat on top of a pile of vegetables like the fashion in 1995 but a way to serve a very small portion. Parsnips inedible, carrots just ok, 3 small roast potatoes, burnt stuffing and then meat with a Yorkshire ( not with pork option ). Half a chicken was far too much whereas the 3 thin slices of pork was barely enough for a child. One final suggestion is that they need to get new knives which will cut rare beef. Disappointing and I doubt we will return...

I went with work colleagues at lunch time, so it wasn't busy; however we were informed that the chef had called in sick. When we arrived we found out that the menu on their web page is out of date- it would be nice if this could be updated. When our food arrived it all looked nice but we then found that it was luke warm and the plates were stone cold. On eating, the food turned out to be quite bland as well, and some had burnt chips while others had fine ones. The bread was also not particularly good quality. I would say it's a lovely pub to have a drink in, or outside when sunny as there are lots of tables outside, but I don't...
