Uptown — Restaurant in Reading

We ordered a half half 18" pizza between 5 friends. One of us noticed an insect in the pizza as she was about to eat it. It was definitely on the pizza before the box was opened, it was covered in oil so we assume it was cooked on the pizza. We are unsure what it was, possibly a cockroach or large fly.

We called the store only to be put on hold for a long while and have them call us back and accuse us of lying. We were asked to email photos so we did. The delivery driver then returned and we took the pizza outside to show him. He folded a piece of paper and since he was able to lift the insect from the pizza using it refused to take any responsibility for it. He offered us money off our next order which we refused since we will not be ordering from them again. I asked him to give me the pizza box back so that I could take it to environmental health, he tried to walk away with the box and refused to hand it back, he used the paper to flick the insect onto the floor hoping we wouldn't notice before eventually handing me the box. Very suspicious behaviour.

Very poor customer service. Obviously have low hygiene standards. The pizza we did unfortunately eat wasn't great. Who knows what else was under the cheese. Will never be ordering from...

Horrible place. They sell Iceland pizza (or something as cheap and low quality) for the hand-made pizza price. But that's not the biggest of their problem. I ordered two pizzas from them, and they got the order wrong. I received the pepperoni pizza instead of the Hawaiian one - that was not the easiest thing to see, because for some peculiar reason they put toppings UNDER the cheese - probably in order to hide that they are not exactly fresh. I called about the problem, and what I've got in response was a bucketful of attitude. I was hinted that I don't understand what pizza is (really?), then - that my English is not good enough (seriously?), then finally I heard "yeah, sorry" in a very annoyed voice. But that was about it. Yeah, we are sorry and we can think about may be giving a discount for the next order, now sod off, annoying woman, what else do you want from us? Well, dear Just Pizza, as I told you - there won't be next order. I will not spend a penny on your products. And I strongly recommend everyone to buy their pizzas elsewhere. In other places you will get your value for money and polite service, while in Just Pizza by the looks of it it's only some uneatable "pseudo-pizza" and lots...

The staff was extremely rude to my flatmates over the phone, then when the delivery driver arrived (an hour and thirty minutes later) he commanded us to hurry bc he’d been waiting, as if we should’ve known he was there before he called us. When we met him to get the pizza he kept calling me “baby” because of a shirt I was wearing that said baby on it and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Then he had the audacity to tell me to “smile” in which case I pointed out how blatantly rude and sexist that was. He then repeated telling me to smile. We left and when we got back we found out he’d called the flat to tell them how rude to him I was for “no reason,” as if I was supposed to apologize to him or something. The whole situation was horrific...
