Absolute humiliating experience! Never been spoken to or even seen anyone else being treated with the sort or disgusting behavior, that my family experienced by the whole team at Vue Cinema Reading. I am a very respected mother of 2. Went to enjoy a film with my sisters. Forgot to turn my phone on silent so did it as I sat on my seat to watch the film. Worker came from behind using the exact words “I work here so don’t touch your phone again or I’ll throw you out of here” in complete shock I asked who she’s talking to with that attitude and the reply I got was “I’m saying it once and I’ll get my manager if you want” I told her to get the manager as I wanted to speak to him about the rude staff. Manager (Kieran) walked into the show and immediately without any question told the 3 of us to leave in the exact world “you 3 get out now” Yet another phone on the far end of the room was ringing out loud and not 1 member of staff approached or even acknowledged it! Following instructions I walked to the exit. But failed to get my refund. As I requested my refund that he promised as he escorted us out to the main hall. The manager came back to us and said “what are you still doing here. I told you to get out once and you’re not going to go back up to the desk for any reason. Not even your refund” My response was excuse me. Where’s the decency to ask me what’s happening here and why I’ve asked for the manager. He did not give me a chance to speak or explain myself. The manager completely refused to investigate the matter and just denied every possibility of justice! He had security waiting outside the doors to escort us out the cinema. When asked for the name of the woman in the room who made the first statement. I was told to leave and stop causing a racket. I was completely denied my rights to complain to higher members of the cinema. Now you can imagine the embarrassment I went through. Being the only group of Pakistani Muslim women in the room. And being treated like we’re not the same as the rest of the customers! I WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS BEHAVIOR! Nor will I let my children see this is how some people will treat you because of the colour of your skin or the religious believe you follow! I am disgusted with the whole team for not standing up for what’s completely and utterly wrong! Therefore I will not be visiting again nor...

In a nutshell,my second experience was another amazing one
Returned to the oracle today to watch Mean Girls and it was great.Fabulous cinema, very clean and nice. The screens were good, nice big screen with good screen clarity. Also I found out that they had super saver seats here.Wow!They were amazing, only paid 5 pound per seat, you haven’t been able to get cinema seats like this since the 90s.You may be thinking it’s 1924 just before the Great Depression when cinemas had only just been invented…almost right but replace the 1 with a 2.It’s amazing to think you can get such good value seats in a big cinema chain like vue in 2024!Such cheap seats did give me a doubt in my mind of whether it would be comfy, but if it wasn’t your paying to see the movie not to get comfy in a seat it’s not odeon luxe or Everyman mate is it.But it was very comfortable actually.Would use vue again especially as cinemas are becoming so expensive and it’s not 5 pound seats everywhere unfortunately, that’s the downside of living in 2024!The movie was great too,you have to see it and here is the perfect place to!Also toilets were clean as well.Unfortunately Franco Manca and the real Greek has closed but hopefully something like Hard Rock Cafe could take its place.
I would recommend this cinema to anyone, you get a very high standard for a vue.Although the showcase in Reading would have been my no1 cinema, this cinema is not one to miss so I recommend you check it out especially as it’s convenient to the oracle.I heard in the news ages ago that this cinema could get knocked down as it would be a real shame to loose such a lovely cinema especially in Reading town centre and the oracle!Nearly every seat was sold out in mean girls today!I also heard that vue was going into financial administration too,I hope that this...
Read moreTerrible experience. A cinema that we regularly go to with my family. They asked my 15 and 16 years old for their ID for the first time to see a 15 movie. They were attending with both parents and auntie (us). We explained that 15 and 16 year olds do not have IDs on them but we are their parents and are telling you that they are. The called the manager down upon my request. Then after waiting for 10 minutes, they tell us the manager says she cannot come down. I asked for her name to write a complaint and the manager on the radio asked the team not give her name and she will not come down either! I find this totally unacceptable. The security guards from Oracle turned up and I explained to them that all I want is the Manager's name to write a complaint. To their surprise the manager refused to give her name to the Oracle security staff either! I find it unacceptable that they would not take the word of parents that their children are above 15. I find it more unacceptable for a manager to refuse to come and see her clients, verify the decision of staff or provide her name or the complaint procedures to deal with this. Despicable behaviour! We were not the only ones. Teens that looked over 18 to everyone including the Oracle security guards were refused entry and they had been waiting for some 30 minutes to speak to a manager who was refusing to come and meet her customers! Never seen anything like this. AVOID UNLESS YOU CARRY PASSPORTS FOR ALL YOUR CHILDREN WITH YOU! My complaint to Oracle and Vue and consumer protection will all be...
