We were looking for somewhere to eat while staying in Clitheroe for a short break. This restaurant was recommended by a local gent we were talking to in our hotel. We hadn’t booked but took the chance. Fortunately there was only one other couple eating in on our arrival so we had no problem securing a table. We were seated in a small waiting area to peruse the menu and order drinks while our table was prepared. We selected lamb samosas to start, chicken korma and chicken tikka masala for mains, poppadoms and pickles. We had glasses of refreshing cobra beer. After a short time our waiter appeared, took our glasses and escorted us to our table. The pickles and poppadoms were already in place, after we sat down and our starters arrived almost immediately. We tucked into everything, the food is of a very high standard and we ate it all. The table was cleared and we were asked if we were ready for our main course. We said we were, a warming plate was delivered to the table , quickly followed by our curries and rice. Again the food was very tasty, well cooked chicken and nice flavours. We polished off our food and declined the offer of dessert. The bill came to £53.55 which we thought was very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food we received. (Just enough in our opinion). We would definitely eat here again if we are in the area.

This is the best curry I’ve eaten in the UK - and I’ve eaten A LOT. Excellent vegetarian/vegan options - thick and creamy tarka dal, perfect potatoes. I’ll eat here any time I’m near Clitheroe.

Large piece of masonry found in my chicken tikka, contacted Dilraj with my serious concerns but they chose to ignore me, now passed over to food standards agency for their attention.

Popped in for the Sunday buffet as it looked a good deal. Be warned...the price on the board outside says £8.50 for adult and £4.50 for child. When inside the price changes to £8.95 and £4.95. The deal includes a coffee And dessert, but they won't offer you this you have to ask. That's what the guy told me when I was questioning the price and the deal AFTER we left the table and paying for our food. The staff were miserable and uninviting and quite rude. My sister ordered two small orange cordials which cost an outstanding £2.10 each! I had asked if we could trade the orange cordial for the coffee and dessert we were never offered but I was met with "we can't do that" Check your bill !!! And also make sure you ask for dessert and coffee!!! Left feeling ripped off and angry. Wouldn't go again, on a lighter note the...

Not sure why some of the reviews are negative but my husband and myself, are on holiday near Clitheroe, and we have just been for a meal to celebrate our 36th Wedding Anniversary. It was absolutely delicious, the service was very good and the staff extremely pleasant. When we told them that we were celebrating, they gave us a complementary drink of Baileys. Pricing was on par with our local one back home. Would highly recommend and if we come to the area again, we will...
