Mansells Coffee Shop Ltd — Restaurant in Ribble Valley

It was my first time visiting here,

I ordered the Prawns in Filo Pastry with Salad and a Hot Chocolate to drink. The Hot chocolate was just the standard Cadburys brand and considering the price I paid for it, I would of expected better. In regards to the food, the Prawns in Pastry tasted nice and the sauce it came with complimented it nicely, but the salad was absolutely drowned in vinegar which is a shame because it looked really fresh and vibrant .

The service was ridiculously slow considering there we're very little people in/out side, and we only ordered two mains. It took around 40 minutes total. The staff we're pleasant enough but didn't seem all that interested in checking how our meal was which is disappointing.

On the plus side, the aesthetic of the place is nice. It's modern, looks clean and it's quite a cosy and relaxed spot.

Overall I wouldn't consider coming back...

Lovely setting in the courtyard. Had a generous portion of broccoli quiche and salad which came with an extraordinary apricot and apple chutney that i’d never tasted before. I asked the chef what was in it as I paid and he told me how it was an old recipe and he’d been making it for years. As we left he ran up the courtyard and gave me a jar of his homemade apricot chutney suggesting it with cheese. The generosity blew me away. That is what Clitheroe is like, fantastic people and great service and this cafe is no exception. Food was fantastic and well worth a visit. Will be making another trip soon and this little cafe will be our go to...

Lovely little cafe in a pleasant courtyard just off the main street in Clitheroe. Service was prompt and friendly. Ordered the steak mushroom and ale pie and was somewhat disappointed with what arrived at the table. Whilst the flavours were good and the filling tender, the presentation was not what I expected. When ordering a pie I expect either an individual pie or a slice from a larger pie. What I received was a plate of pie filling with the smallest triangle of puff pastry on top. It was more of a deconstructed pie, very disappointed. If I'd known I'd have chosen something else from the menu. However, can't fault...
