Bentleys — Restaurant in Rochford

Made an order through Uber eats. I made a mistake and didn't realise I hadn't added both items. Due to their small order fee, delivery fee, and service charge, I didn't notice. Within minutes of placing the order I realised the mistake and called the restaurant to ask them to cancel it/request to add on to it. They said I needed to do this through Uber eats. Contacted Uber eats. They said to cancel through the restaurant, or I could cancel through them but there would still be a charge; a charge of the entire order. Called the restaurant back to again try to cancel through them (remember I actually did want an order and wanted to order more) but they said no and said I could place a 2nd order. Which would again incur a small order fee, a delivery charge and a service charge. £20 just seems a very large fee to pay for 2 breakfast sandwiches. I appreciate I messed up initially, but I called within minutes to request a cancel/reorder/addition. But the absolute unhelpfulness of staff was atrocious. No willingness to help and the audacity to ask if we'd be placing the 2nd order is crazy. Will not be ordering again. A little customer service goes along way. Went there this morning after a while, have always had a good experience in the past. Unfortunately today was different, they have a 2 eggs on 2 toast option and a 3 scrambled eggs on 2 toast option. I asked if I have the 2 eggs on 2 toast if they can be scrambled to which I was told yes and so I ordered that and a tea. The tea came in a small mug not a standard size they used to do, the toast was burnt and eggs slightly undercooked. I chose not to say anything but when it came to paying I was charged for 3 eggs and 2 toast which is more than 2 eggs, when i questioned this and explained I asked about and ordered 2 eggs the younger girl told me it’s only scrambled if it’s 3 which wasn’t what I was told when I ordered albeit with a different girl. I paid nonetheless and I doubt I’ll be going back anytime soon if at all shame as it’s always been...

Me and my colleagues used to go here quite often and order it to takeaway until the prices kept changing as if they were just being made up. I went in there today to get a wrap, however I didn’t get asked what salad or sauces I wanted in there . They heated it up which I think is a bit odd as the salad would be warm and the wrap soggy. Every wrap comes with either chips or salad but I just asked for it on it’s own. The price with chips was £5.50 and I still got charged the same amount even though I just had the wrap. Got back to work to find my wrap was just as I thought (soggy) and stuck to the paper. I couldn’t pick it up without it falling apart and I couldn’t even eat it.
