Rustico Neapolitan (Battle) — Restaurant in Rother

We have always loved taking our family to Rustico’s, the staff have always been very friendly and helpful until tonight. We booked a table, the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy but we were shown to a table squashed between 2 others that were busy. The rest of the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy so when we asked the waitress if we could be seated at the other table that was less cramped she rolled her eyes and told us that other people had booked that table. Fair enough, can we be seated somewhere else? She just stood there with her arms out looking exasperated with us until her manager showed us to another table. My son then overheard her telling another table how we were wanting to move tables. So all in all the food is great, the staff are lovely except for her which is a shame as we have been coming here for years and this is the first bad experience. We never realised asking to sit at a less cramped table was such a problem...

My husband and I had the most wonderful evening here for our anniversary :) From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with such warmth and genuine friendliness that we immediately felt at home. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting and very authentic!

The food was absolutely gorgeous. Real Italian flavours! Every dish tasted and appeared to be fresh and carefully prepared! The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauces were rich and flavourful, and the dessert… heavenly!

What really stood out to us though was the staff. They were attentive in the most thoughtful way, checking in at just the right moments and making sure we had everything we needed without making us feel rushed. You can tell they take real pride in what they do, and it made our evening feel extra special.

We left feeling so happy, full, and already talking about when we can come back. Highly, highly recommend to anyone looking for a yummy Italian...

We moved to Battle from London about six months ago, and were so glad to have a pizza place as good quality as Rustico close by. Their pizzas have been a great option for when we didn't want to cook and fancied a treat. Last night, we went for a meal with friends there, and were highly impressed with the food (it's even better when it's come piping hot from the oven!), and the consideration and helpfulness of the staff. We had two young children with us, and the staff helped pick up pacifiers when they were discarded, give them a wash, and handed them back to us, all while giving recommendations, and making us feel at home.
